this is exactly how I like reading hardcovers 😂 I truly dislike hardcovers especially the dust jackets! Hardcovers are just not flexible and I love folding my books 😭

— book review —

⚠️ spoiler-free ⚠️

Whew! Two weeks later & I finally finished reading these two! First, can we all just give @therealsjmaas her freaking accolades 👏🏾 After every book of hers I read, I think to myself there’s no way she can out do this one & SHE FREAKIN DOES!! I’m constantly in awe of her creativity and her ability to fully immerse her readers into the fantasy world. I’ve seen a lot of people comment about how dense or boring the first few hundred pages of these books were, but those are the parts I appreciate the most. When I read, a movie is playing in my head. I have an image of what each character looks like, what every location looks like, or what every battle looks like. She puts so much into developing these characters and their world in a way that makes it easy for us to picture. I especially loved the characters relationship with each other. It was amazing to see them overcoming obstacles together & growing closer through it.

CC1 was more of an emotional read especially in the last 200 pages or so. I was literally bawling my eyes out 😭 CC2 was more of an exhilarating read & she gave us more depth into each character that we got a glimpse of in CC1. THE TWISTS?! Don’t even get me started. This review deserves to be spoiler-free because I think everyone needs to experience this shock & get their chance to scream at that ending. I’ll just end this here before I spoil it 😂

HAPPY PUB DAY TO THIS GEM 💎

This was such a fun, cutesy summer read! If you’re looking for the perfect vacation or beach read to toss into your bag this summer, this is the one.

I really enjoyed the chemistry between Jeremiah and Noelle; their banter and growing connection made the romance easy to root for. Jeremiah was such a lovable hero, and I found myself cheering for them from the beginning. If you’re a fan of the fake dating trope and the beloved 🙄“there’s only one bed” trope (lol), this book delivers on both in the best way.

Beyond the romance, I appreciated the themes of family expectations, second chances, and giving yourself permission to pursue happiness, even when life doesn’t unfold exactly as planned.

Overall, it’s a sweet, feel-good romance that perfectly captures the lighthearted energy of summer while still giving you a couple you’ll want to root for until the very last page.

“the missed connection” thoughts 💭

i think this might honestly be my favorite @tiawilliamswrites book yet. this book felt tender, intentional, and so emotionally grounded in a way that really stayed with me after finishing it.

one thing I loved most was how the story explored the idea that sometimes we miss what’s right in front of us because we’re too focused on the “perfect” version of love or life we’ve created in our heads. and in doing that, we overlook the genuine connection sitting right in front of us. that lesson hit hard.

the chemistry, the yearning, the vulnerability - Tia writes all of it so well. this felt like a romance about timing, healing, and truly seeing people for who they are. definitely one of my favorite reads from her.
