Oil on canvas

Continuing the same subject matter focused on the members of my immediate family, I wanted to create another blurred scene differing from my process-based fog painting. With a different approach of limiting myself to no tints or shades, and only using oil paint straight from the tube, I wanted to see how form could be defined by purely saturated yellows to create another high tonal key painting. by @wenhao.studio

Oil on varying handmade supports (canvas, muslin, ash, and masonite). An exploration on different grounds (oil ground, acrylic gesso, sandable gesso, light molding paste, and pastel ground). Also has acrylic paint, a few hinges, and an acetate sheet.

Thank you to everyone who came to my solo show Mind the Gap that opened last Friday September 18th! The exhibit consists of my thesis and other works from my time studying at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) along with a few new thoughts since graduating in the spring. I am so grateful that I get to share such a big part of my life with so many people and to continue making and creating in the city I call home. 🧡💐

The show will be open by appointment until October 18 which you can book through the link in my bio!
