One of the last undeveloped barrier islands in South Carolina, located in Horry County just north of Cherry Grove Beach and North Myrtle Beach may become a State Park and part of a Heritage Trust Reserve Protection. I am actually really excited about this Ya'll.

For years I have kayaked from Cherry Grove Boat Landing to Waties Island and walked the beach as well as taken boat tours that passed Waties Island going to the Atlantic Ocean for dolphin watching.

It's a beautiful place. Hot spot for Loggerhead Turtles nesting, Osprey and Bald Eagle nests. About 3 miles long with gorgeous beach views and Intracoastal Waterway views.

Thought I post a quick beach view off the Intracoastal Waterway to share the beauty. Glad it's going to be preserved!
