The uncertainty, engorgement, hand expressing and wondering “is this enough?”, the painful zing during the first few latches, tongue ties, finding the right posture to pump, pumping a full bottle for 20 minutes only for your son to drink 1 ounce of the milk, lactation appointments, the first time a successful latch happens, bottle refusal, intense eye contact, cluster feeding, happy tears of “wow, I love this child so much”, endless scrolling, wishing maternity clothes had deeper v neck lines to help with nursing, changing your entire wardrobe to find something easy to wear, soothing, lullabies, tendinitis/mommy wrist, “but I just fed you”, primal instinct activating, a source of food, comfort nursing, dream nursing, patience, biting, SUPPORT, navigating breastfeeding in public, pulling over on the highway shoulder to breastfeed, creating a safe space, vulnerability, a deep connection building every session, frustration, commitment, social media influencers creating reels that focus on “overproducing” when that’s not a common reality, late night MyChart messages to the Pediatrician, acupuncture, postpartum massages, chiropractor, nursing pillows saving the day, rocking chairs, toe curling, building my sons immune system, fatigue, dehydration, hunger, “normal” has a sliding scale of what is “normal”, leaks, staying present, a well fed baby, tiny hands, newborn curl, communicating via body language and eye movement, narrating my day, learning curves, seeing your baby smile while nursing, cuddles, vitamin D drops, chubby thighs, postpartum vivid dreams, nursing bras, a quick solution to mitigate meltdowns, hot flashes, contact naps….

An unmatched journey that has forever changed me in a new beautiful way ❤️

In 2025 I became a mother and it turns out, it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. From the gender reveal, a dream babymoon, a natural birth, breastfeeding and having help from my mom and mother in law for 6 months, I feel so blessed.
