My new documentary „On both sides of the table“ in collaboration with @sportstiftungnrw will release on @magentatv this Friday and will be available on Youtube the day after.

On both sides of the table tells the story of @mio.wagner07, who‘s fighting for a place at the top in both Olympic and Paralympic table tennis, all while constantly being torn between the two.
Two worlds that might not have as much in common as you‘d think.

It‘s a story that portrays the difficulties of merging Paralympic and Olympic competition, trying to make it as a professional athlete and finding yourself as a person at the same time. by @weristmarcel

While everyone loves to talk about good looking images and their wins (me included) and you can definitely learn a lot from them, I think you can learn even more from things others struggled with or maybe even failed at.

So with this post I wanna talk about a few things I learned while shooting my latest documentary „On both sides of the table“.

Some of these things I already tried implementing on previous work and this documentary just served as a prove of concept, showing me again how important they are and some if these things I never had to deal with on such a large scale and struggled with during the 3 months shooting period. by @weristmarcel

Here are some of the shots I got to piece together my new documentary „On both sides of the table“ which released for german streaming on @magentatv yesterday.

These are building blocks that help to shape a narrative and build a great viewing experience. While some of these are a little more stilistic and might not fit every topic, most of them are very broad and will most likely find there way into every doc I shoot. by @weristmarcel

Quick one for @polytan_emea with national team player @justus_warweg

Midday sun + little time + limited access made this one a little tricky. Still managed to get a decent storytelling piece out of this. by @weristmarcel

Happy first hochzeitstag to the best ehemann I could ask for.
Choosing you as my life partner, my teammate and future babydaddy has been the most important decision of my life.
The last year has challenged us in many ways, but we came out even stronger and more appreciative of one another than ever before.
I will always love you.
Until we‘re grey (or bald) and old.
