Big congratulations to our WERK1 startup complioty for winning 2nd place at the ATHENE Digital Hub Cybersecurity Startup Award 2026 during the it-sa trade fair in Nuremberg!

With their innovative cybersecurity solutions, complioty helps machinery manufacturers identify and monitor security vulnerabilities, making industrial machines safer and helping companies stay on top of cybersecurity risks.
Out of a competitive field of startups, the team impressed the jury and took home €5.000 in prize money! 💰

It's always great to see innovative solutions from our WERK1 community being recognized on such a stage!

Well deserved, team complioty! Keep up the great work! 💙

Our latest AFTERWERK got a spooky Halloween makeover! With creative costumes, spooky decorations and the WERK1 team dressed as astronauts, we once again brought together familiar and new faces to connect, catch up on what's happening at WERK1 and enjoy some Halloween fun! 👩🏽‍🚀🎃👻

Our Community Events Manager Ines took the mic and guided us through the evening:

🚀 New faces at WERK1:
Some of our newest community members introduced themselves, including @partspace.io , a startup that joined WERK1 almost three months ago. With their Technical Sourcing Intelligence platform, PartSpace helps industrial companies make smarter sourcing decisions and streamline procurement processes.

🤝 New partnerships:
Starting in November, @hyttestudios is transforming one of @patopickleball ´s courts right next to WERK1 into a sauna experience. And with @egym.wellpass.de, we're bringing even more fitness and wellness opportunities to our community – both with exclusive WERK1 benefits!

💡 New expert on board:
We also welcomed Marine Ekoro, Co-Founder & Managing Director of E&Q FinFit GmbH, to our expert pool! With her expertise in finance and SAP transformations, she'll be sharing her knowledge with our startup community.

Thanks to everyone who joined us and made this AFTERWERK a spooky good one! 🚀

Last Wednesday, the Münchner Gründerpreis (Munich Founders Award), hosted by Stadtsparkasse München, celebrated outstanding founders and their innovative business ideas at WERK1. We're especially happy that our Group Lead Operations Dr. Fabian Heil was part of this year's jury to select this year’s winner in the “Aufsteiger” (Rising star) category.

A big congratulations to this year's winners:

🏆 Startup Category: ON7 GmbH
The startup is taking on one of the biggest challenges in healthcare: The shortage of nursing professionals. ON7 connects care facilities in Germany with international nursing talent and supports them every step of the way, from recruitment to settling into their new jobs.

🏆 Aufsteiger Category: @juliusbrantner & @mybacs
Two winners sharing first place! While Julius Brantner combines traditional baking craftsmanship with regional organic ingredients, mybacs focuses on gut health through innovative probiotics.

Different industries, different ideas, but all showing how entrepreneurship can address real challenges and make a difference.

Congratulations to all winners and finalists, and a big thank you to @sskmuenchen for celebrating and supporting entrepreneurship in our city!

Yesterday, our colleagues Fanny, Kathrin and Ines attended the Beyond Economy Festival at the House of Communication in Munich.

The festival brought together people from business, innovation and beyond to explore new perspectives on the future of our economy and discuss how we can shape a more sustainable and responsible future together. 🌍

Of course, one particular program highlight caught our attention: the startup pitch competition hosted by the Board Academy’s Business Angel Club in collaboration with Freiraum Ventures!

12 selected startups had the opportunity to pitch their innovative ideas, including two from our WERK1 community: @ingemeinschaft and @breathmentapp !

Hearing such a wide range of ideas was once again a great reminder of how much entrepreneurial spirit is out there and how innovation can make a difference in so many different areas. Each startup is tackling its own challenges, but all share the ambition to create a better future. ✨

Thanks @beyond.economy for the invitation and the inspiring day full of valuable insights and conversations!

Together with @baystartup_ , we’re bringing back Startup Demo Night – one of the biggest events in Munich’s startup scene! 🚀
On 25 November, startup teams will showcase their ideas and prototypes to around 700 guests, including investors, corporate representatives, fellow founders and startup enthusiasts.
For exhibitors, it’s an unique opportunity to receive direct feedback, connect with potential customers, investors and partners, and find out: Does your product resonate? Is your pitch convincing? And where is there still room for improvement?
Want to be one of them? Register as an exhibitor by 6 November. Participation is free, but spaces are limited.

Last week, our colleague Ellena swapped Munich for Cologne for a few days to explore what’s happening in the coworking world beyond WERK1! 👀

First stop: #zukunftcoworking 2026 - the annual gathering of the coworking and flex-office industry, organized by the @bundesverbandcoworkingspaces.

Bringing together coworking operators, landlords and businesses, the event was a great opportunity to exchange ideas, make new connections and gain fresh perspectives on the future of flexible workspaces.

And since she was already in Cologne, Ellena also took the chance to visit @startplatz Köln, another startup and coworking hub, to explore their space and gather some fresh inspiration! 🚀

Thanks for the insights, Cologne - and thanks to Ellena for taking us along! 😉

Our next AFTERWERK is getting a Halloween twist! 🎃

Join us on 29 October for an evening with a few startup pitches, good food, drinks and, as always, plenty of opportunities to network and connect!

🧙‍♀️ Witch, ghost, pumpkin or zombie?

The dresscode is going to be Halloween themed - but no pressure! Costumes are highly encouraged, but of course you can wear whatever you're feeling!

But for those who love a little competition:
We're hosting a costume contest! 🏆

The best costume wins a little surprise, so get creative and bring your spookiest look!

See you there! 👻

Getting hands-on. Literally! 🤓

Last Wednesday, our WERK1 community came together for our KREATIVWERK to create their very own little pieces of art out of concrete!

When you spend most of your day staring at a screen, there's something incredibly calming about working with your hands. A great chance to really slow down and clear your mind.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and to @kreativstudio.muc for welcoming us and making this creative evening possible! 🎨

What happens when a startup outgrows its first home? 👀

Staying connected with our alumnis is something we truly care about. With our new series BEYOND WERK1, we're catching up with former WERK1 startups to find out where their journeys have taken them.

In our first episode, we caught up with Toni from @steptics, who shares what the team has achieved since moving out of WERK1, what helped them most along the way and what they miss most about their time here.

Steptics is a Munich-based startup, that develops innovative prosthetic feet, aiming to make high-quality mobility solutions more affordable and accessible to people with amputations around the world. After two and a half years at WERK1, the team took the next step and moved out into a bigger office in January 2026.

A big thank you to Toni Padilla and Daniel Kun for taking the time to share your experiences and giving us a glimpse into your journey beyond WERK1!

We're proud to see how far you've come and can't wait to see what's next for steptics! 🚀
