OUT NOW: MR NORBLE GUY — WANGALA

Wangala by @mr_norble_guy is out now on WE R Records.

A three-track EP built around rhythm, voice, and shared energy, Wangala sits naturally within what WE R stands for: unity, community, and music as a point of connection.

Across “Wangala” featuring @natasha_mdletshe , “Zenande”, and “Nepali”, Mr Norble Guy delivers rhythm, melodic detail, and cultural influence through a sound that is measured, expressive, and distinctly his own.

“Wangala” draws inspiration from the communal spirit and rhythm of the Wangala harvest festival, with Natasha MD’s warm chanting giving the track its defining character. “Zenande” carries a sense of persistence and forward movement, while “Nepali” closes the EP with inspiration drawn from the collective energy and brightness of Nepalese chanting.

Three tracks, one connected body of work. A restrained and unique interpretation of Afro House, quickly becoming synonymous with Mr Norble Guy.

At the core of LESS than More are its residents — the selectors who shape the room, set the pace and define the atmosphere from open to close.

Kindred Music SA, head of Pocket Food Audio, brings a deeply narrative approach to the floor. Rooted in minimal and underground house, his selections balance groove and emotion, favouring subtle pressure over obvious peaks. A storyteller first, his sets unfold patiently, designed for dancers who listen as much as they move.

Alongside him is Calvert, head of We R Music. With years spent cultivating forward-thinking electronic spaces, Calvert’s sound is refined, restrained and intentional — focused on flow, texture and long-form progression. Founder of Endless and the Resonate event series, ØCEANS is a Romanian-born producer and DJ now based in Cape Town, known for navigating the space between minimal deep tech, brooding psy-tech and hypnotic techno.

With roots as a live musician and former member of national touring band Asleep in Transit, his understanding of structure, tension and progression runs deep. Whether in intimate club settings or open-air festival environments, his sets are built with purpose — patient builds, controlled energy and immersive low-end movement.

A seasoned performer across South Africa’s underground landscape, ØCEANS has appeared at Rumours by the Lake, Horizons, Euphoric Universe, Lost Paradise and Perfect World, alongside club appearances such as Destination Saturn at Mødular.

Equally comfortable in the studio, his crossover release Fiyah feat. Lakota Silva reached #1 on the 5FM Dance Chart for three consecutive weeks, cementing his ability to bridge underground sensibility with wider resonance — without losing depth.

A versatile selector and producer, bringing weight and atmosphere to the LESS than More floor.
