It’s not clean work but at least it’s honest. #swimbaitunderground #toxicbaitssuck #hawghunter #bassfishing by @wes_godd

7.3 and 5.0 from today. Both inhaled the hud. Crazy how a couple stockings change a bass demeanor. #swimbaitunderground #bl8nkt #f5customrods #huddleston #tinyboatnation by @wes_godd

Got out with my pops for the first time in months today, stuck both fish on the bait I’ve been working on for the past year and a half. There’s a completely different happiness and sense of accomplishment when you stick a fish on something you created. I hope the feeling never goes away. Today I landed my biggest framed fish. My biggest mother lode fish and the biggest largemouth on the skudlet to date. She was spawned out but all of 8lbs and 26+ inches. #swimbaitunderground #swimbaitsonly #swimbaituniverse #swimbaitculture #toxicbaits #dobynsrods #shimanoreels by @wes_godd

This trip had one purpose. My family has gone to this same spot for over 40 years. My uncle and his friends first introduced me to what we call “the hole” when I was 15 years old and I immediately fell in love with it. We’ve made some great memories here over the years, from gnarly spills and near death experiences to inside jokes and countless hilarious stories. This years trip was only different in one way. My uncle wasn’t there in person but in spirit, we lost him to his battle with depression in November of last year. His life long friends and some of our family came together and unanimously agreed to do right by him, and spread his ashes in the one place he was able to free his mind of his thoughts, his pain, and his burdens. The one place a smile never left his face. Where his laughter could be heard from 100 yards away. We battled the mountain for 10 hours. Bare knuckle boxed heatstroke. Laughed in the face of Mother Nature as she kept throwing more and more obstacles in our way. All for one reason. To give him one last trip to his peace on earth.. by @wes_godd
