Puppentu(r)m.
Sie trachtete meiner Augen, ein entblößter Fleck Tinte. Dann sah ich sie erst richtig an. Die Puppe hatte mich erwartet. Sie rasselte. "Maria. Du hast Dir Zeit gelassen." Nur ein Funke hätte ihren Angstschweiß entfacht. Da saß ich mich vor sie hin, verlagerte schnell mein Bein, schob es kreuzweise, mal nach links, mal nach rechts. Eins nach der anderen. Es blieb ein Rätsel, wann ich sie miteinander vertauschen würde. Auswechseln? Mein Element war doch ein anderes. Endlich fande ich meine Worte: "Du hast Recht, meine Lia. Unsere Zeit ist zu kostbar, lass uns sie nicht mehr verlieren."
Lia löste ihre verschränkten Vorderfüße, stand nur auf den übrigen beiden. Ihr Blick lag immer noch in meinem. Denn aufgelöste Tinte war auch bloß warmes Wachs. by @weshallcfern

August – October 2016, a starting period to look back on. 🔮 As in: 10 years ago, I lived in Bolivia for a year to do a voluntary service. I started out in La Paz/El Alto, knowing that I would later shift work to Independencia, "near" Cochabamba. At the beginning, I quickly met other volunteers and then I made more friends with Bolivians. This period was also the time when I learned so much more Spanish.
All this year has imprinted a lot on me, and at some point I had dreamed of living there for the rest of my life. When I came back to Germany, I used to measure my next years' lifespan by how long I had been in Bolivia and how long I had already returned since. I was so astonished for example by the time I had been back in Germany for 2 years (by mid 2019), that's double the amount of time I had ever been in Bolivia ...! (And then in these 2 years after Bolivia, all doubts have been gone, and me realizing I have been a woman all along and needing to embrace my transition ...)

So what did I do at the beginning of this special year? Since I was member of an organization, other volunteers and I traveled to Bolivia, arriving in Santa Cruz. The organization was interested in achieving a coordinated and anti-racist awareness experience in the work we did, so we got briefed on such things on multiple occasions, including after our arrival. In fact, many volunteer organizations don't consider such awareness trainings at all, and obviously even if they exist, their contents or their attendees can leave a lot to be desired. Then again, there are views that question or condemn the existence of such a volunteer infrastructure in the first place – I found these a lot, yes, there were many realities to consider: before, during, after the voluntary service.
I think we cannot really generalize how such experience shape the persons participating in it, on many sides. I have made many interesting discoveries during that time, about myself, my near environment, sometimes maybe the world.

After my arrival, I started my work in El Alto. This is the bigger city next to La Paz, seat of government. I lived with a Bolivian family in El Alto. In October, I changed places again... by @weshallcfern

Früher fand der Apfelmarkt in Wetzlar in einer recht engen Straße statt, jetzt ist es ein weites Feld. Beides hatte seine eigenen, berechtigten, wohligen Vibes. Ich denke, es ist inzwischen viel mehr los. Ich war überrascht 😮 Lieblingsjahreszeit mit einem der Lieblingsmärkte 😋🎃🍎🍐🍁🔮💍
