hi i’m wes opal. i made a friend who encouraged me to put out my first song. i was embarrassed of myself singing because i still have imposter syndrome
from when i was just a tone deaf drummer playing in metalcore and post hardcore bands.

i always loved rnb music but just thought singing was one of those things that either you had or you didn’t. so even while i played in heavy bands, i loved artists like the weeknd, frank ocean, jodeci, chase atlantic, etc.

over the last few years ive taught myself piano, music production, and singing. one time my friend and i were in the car on a long drive and we started doing car pool karaoke. she was surprised with my voice and encouraged me to put some songs out. a couple months later, her and a long term bf split so she asked me to make a hype song for her. i wrote misbehave to hype her up but not to bash her ex. he was cool they just didn’t work out. the song is full of inside jokes and stories from our last couple years as friends and it’s a little surreal seeing it go from playing it for our friends in my car, to having the track out on DSP’s and having several more songs mixed, mastered and ready to release over this year. it’s one of those things we’re i’m nervous and anxious bc the internet can be cruel, and i haven’t been on socials in years. but i’m also excited bc it’s cool hearing my own singing voice recorded and playing out loud for anyone to hear. taken in Seattle, Washington by @wesopal_
