Not every “pico” laser is a pico laser.
Shocking, I know. Slapping the word “pico” on a machine doesn’t mean it’s built like one, and it definitely doesn’t mean it can do what a genuine picosecond laser does to your ink.

Here’s your reality check before you book anywhere:

✅ Is it a real, reputable machine .. or something that showed up in a container from AliExpress with a “laser” sticker on it?

✅ Can you see actual before-and-afters (not just one flattering photo )?

✅ Are they getting full clearances & maintaining skin health or is that “removed” tattoo just… still there, but sadder?

✅ Is your tech actually qualified, or just confident?

If your eyebrows are looking like a yellow-grey smudge and your lip blush has gone full swamp-brown-grey, that’s not “the best we can do.”
That’s a red flag wearing a trench coat.

You are allowed to ask questions. You are allowed to say “actually, no.”
It’s your skin, your money, and your results on the line not theirs.

I see the damage from cheap machines and undertrained hands walk through my door more than I’d like, almost daily now and it genuinely guts me every time.

Do your research. Ask the awkward questions. Your skin will thank you. 🖤

Why your lip blush can turn grey after laser 👀❤️‍🩹

Cosmetic pigments often contain iron oxide + titanium dioxide. ⛓️ 🌡️

Hit them with the wrong settings and they can darken (grey, brown, even yellow).
It’s called paradoxical darkening.

That’s why I always:
✔️ Spot treat first (inner lip corner, brow tail)
✔️ Read the endpoint
✔️ Adjust parameters on the spot

Inexperienced clinics can leave you with a darker lip or brow than you started with. Unfortunately some laser techs can’t actually treat PD once it’s occurred..

Fun fact: fine line tattoos tend to fade faster than bold, traditional work.

Here’s why 👇

✨ Lighter touch. Fine line is done with a much more delicate hand, so the ink doesn’t sit as deep in the skin.

✨ Less saturation. Fewer layers of ink means less pigment for the laser to break up.

✨ Softer shades. Lots of fine line designs use a light grey wash instead of solid black, and lighter pigment tends to clear quicker.

Why do hands and feet take longer to fade? 👀

Less blood flow = fewer immune cells getting to the ink. Once the laser shatters the pigment, your body has to clear it through the lymphatic system, and out on the extremities that journey takes longer.
