“The Planet East” — a portrait of Umm Kulthoum, evocatively recreated by our Creative Director, Tareq Baladina.

Inspired by one of the rarest portraits of the legendary Egyptian singer from the 1940s, the artwork is meticulously rendered in pencil and pastel, capturing far more than her iconic presence. It evokes her spirit, character, and the enduring allure of an extraordinary era.

Framed with such distinction, the artwork transcends the traditional portrait. It becomes an integral part of the space—creating a sophisticated dialogue between heritage and modernity.

«كوكب الشرق» — بورتريه لأم كلثوم، أعاد إبداعه بأسلوب آسر المدير الإبداعي لدينا، طارق بلعدينة.

استلهامًا من إحدى أندر صور المطربة المصرية الأسطورية في أربعينيات القرن الماضي، جاء العمل منفذًا بعناية فائقة باستخدام قلم الرصاص وألوان الباستيل، ليوثّق ما هو أبعد من حضورها الأيقوني؛ إذ يستحضر روحها، وشخصيتها، والسحر المتجدد لعصر استثنائي لا يزال حاضرًا في الذاكرة.

وبهذا الإطار المميز، يتجاوز العمل مفهوم البورتريه التقليدي، ليصبح جزءًا أصيلًا من المكان، ويخلق حوارًا راقيًا بين عراقة التراث وروح الحداثة.

A Friend of Our Artistic Community

We are honored to celebrate HRH Princess Haifa bint Abdullah Al Saud, an artist and cherished friend of our artistic community, whose distinctive presence and enduring appreciation for the arts reflect a rare dialogue between culture, elegance, and personal expression.

At the heart of this presentation is a distinguished portrait by our Creative Director, Tareq Baladina, accompanied by a curated selection of intimate and iconic moments from different chapters of her journey. Together, they form a visual narrative—one shaped by individuality, cultural appreciation, and an innate connection to the language of art.

Moving between the intimacy of portraiture and the spontaneity of captured moments, the collection also offers a glimpse into Princess Haifa’s own artistic expression through a selection of her drawings. Among these, one particularly striking image captures her standing beside her painting of her father, the late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The moment carries a quiet intimacy, bringing together personal memory, artistic expression, and a deeply rooted connection to heritage.

These images reveal more than a likeness. They offer a glimpse into a personality defined by grace, cultural curiosity, and an appreciation for beauty in its many forms. Through both the works she creates and the moments captured of her, we see an individual whose relationship with art is not simply one of admiration, but of personal expression and lived experience.

As Riyadh Fashion Week draws closer, we look back on an evening where elegance met creativity, and fashion became a space for genuine human connection—capturing the rapid transformation taking place across the Kingdom.

The evening brought together some of the most influential women in fashion, media, beauty, and the creative industries. It was a gathering where sophistication met warmth, conversation flowed into friendship, and passion met ambition.

The photographs capture moments that transcend the occasion itself: refined portraits and candid encounters that reflect the spirit of a creative community taking shape today, while giving Saudi fashion an increasingly prominent presence on the global stage.

Among the guests were Ms. Meshaal Al Dakhil, Vice Chairwoman of the Fashion Association Board of Directors; Ms. Mai Bedir, Ms. Mai Badr, Editor in Chief of Hia Magazine and Hia Hub; Ms. Zizi Zgheib, Career Psychologist and Client Director; Ms. Cynthia Kattar, Editor in Chief of MADAME ARABIA and Ms. Sara Albuainain, a member of the Saudi Fashion Association; alongside a distinguished group of women helping to shape the contours of this emerging creative landscape.

Because fashion is not defined solely by what appears on the runway; it is also shaped by the encounters, ideas, and relationships that happen beyond it.

And as Riyadh Fashion Week approaches, a new chapter begins—a story Riyadh is writing in its own distinctive style.
