And last but not least we have our bubbly D2 Rep Alexis Morales🌸 Here are some fun facts you might not have known about her…

Favorite CDA memory? Hm there’s sooo many, but I will say that Advocacy Day in Sacramento really stands out for me and put into perspective the first hand difference we are able to make talking to local legislators, truly in awe still that I have the opportunity to have a seat at the table 🥹

Favorite animal? I love birds but an exception to my favorite animal is my diva Sophie (my cutie little poodle)

Fun fact, one of my favorite things to do is go cruising with my Grandpa and Sophie in his classic 1989 Monte Carlo🩵

Whether she’s cruising with her pup in that low rider or attending local dental society events, there’s never a dull moment with her! She is the sweetest addition to the team 🍭

Keep an eye out for updates because we will be introducing the newest additions to our team very soon 🤭 by @westernucda

Next up on our list we have our ray of sunshine D3 Rep Verena Mikhail☀️ Here are some fun facts you most definitely might not have know about her…

Favorite CDA memory? I enjoy every CDA event! From meetings at the future of dentistry workgroup, spending time with our CDA family at Disneyland post CDA presents, to advocating for our patients in Sacramento. I’m blessed to be part of this wonderful organization! 🧡 CDA cares about dental students from the moment they enter dental school throughout their career. I encourage all to be involved!

My favorite animal is a dog, their loyalty and love for humans is admirable!

Fun fact, many people haven’t heard the name Verena before. I’m blessed to be named after St. Verena who is the patron saint for public health! She took care of all during the persecution of the Christians in the reign of emperor Diocletian. What an honor it is to have the name of a such a courageous Christian. I pray that I learn from her and her intercessions be with us all :)

Whether she’s helping out at ASDA events or at CDA presents, Verena always gives 100% in everything she’s involved with. We are so blessed to have her on our team here at WesternU 🥰 by @westernucda

And to continue on introductions, we have our outstanding DMD-IDP Rep Pulkit Handa🕺🏽 Here are some details you might not have known about him…

My favorite CDA memory is being a Student Delegate and getting to see firsthand how resolutions are presented, discussed, and voted on. It was really cool getting a behind-the-scenes look at how decisions are made within CDA! 🦷🗳️

My favorite animal? Dogs 🐶

And fun fact about me, I’ve been playing soccer for around 15 years ⚽️… and I’m currently recovering from ACL/MCL surgery, so my soccer career is temporarily on injured reserve 😂🦵

Don’t worry, maybe you’ll catch him in the next World Cup 😏 but in the meantime, you can find him providing some all star clinical care here at WesternU⭐️ by @westernucda

As we begin the new school year, we thought it would be a good idea to reintroduce ourselves just in case you forgot our beautiful faces ;)

First and foremost, we have our amazing D4 Rep Isabelle Bernardo 🧡 Here are some fun facts about her to get to know a little more behind those iconic curls of hers…

My favorite CDA memory is actually a little CDA-adjacent. I got to tell my patients that their Medi-Cal dental coverage had been extended for another year, something I had advocated for alongside students, dentists, legislators, and other advocates. Seeing their faces light up was incredibly rewarding and reminded me why advocacy matters.

My favorite animal? Obvi, my pup Max! My fiancé and I adopted him during my second year of dental school, and I call him our “Maxillary Canine.” 🤭

Fun fact, I’m an ambidextrous dental provider! Left-handed by nature, but I can switch sides chairside when duty calls.

Whether shes speaking at a press conference at the state capital or with her cutie Max, she is always showing up and representing WesternU so #CDMproud and we are so lucky to have her on our team 🥹 by @westernucda

And that’s a wrap on my year serving as CDA Chair! 🥹
So grateful for every opportunity, event, advocacy trip, and memory that came with this role. I truly never took any of it for granted and tried to make the absolute most of this experience. Excited to continue serving as a CDA Student Representative, and so excited to see what the next Student Delegation Leadership accomplishes. I already know they’re going to do amazing things! 🧡🦷 forever #cdaproud by @westernucda

Last week, we had the honor to represent Western University College of Dental Medicine at the California State Capitol on behalf of dental healthcare. Engaging with state legislators and having those valuable conversations is a privilege not taken lightly, and we remain committed to advocating for the future of the profession and equitable access to oral healthcare for our communities. #CDMProud 🦷 taken in Sacramento Capitol by @westernucda

Third CDA House of Delegates wrapped! We had big resolutions, bigger conversations, and even bigger student impact. From debating on the floor to watching student voices influence real movement, this weekend reminded me exactly why advocacy matters. Proud of the work we’re doing and the momentum we’re building together 🦷🧡 taken in Sacramento, California by @westernucda
