OR Wednesdays are my favorite days of the week!
There when I get to make my patients' dreams come true ... by innovating using a customized approach and listening to what they want... but it's also a great day to connect one on one with my staff!
In the day-to-day of a busy eye clinic sometimes it's hard to stop and take a breath, but in the OR my staff are my right hand, I could never bring the gift of vision to our patients without their help!

What does the #Longhorn spirit mean to Dr. Vendal? 🤘

For our founder, it's a story of determination, big dreams and finding a home here in Austin.

After immigrating from Pakistan, Dr. Vendal pursued her education at UT Austin with a passion for learning and the determination to become an eye surgeon.

Fast-forward to today, and she's had the incredible full-circle experience of performing surgery on some of the very professors who helped shape her journey.

From the Forty Acres to serving the Austin community, her Longhorn roots run deep. 🧡

Innovation in glaucoma care starts with leadership! 👁️✨

Our founder, Dr. Zarmeena Vendal, recently introduced the new OMNI ULTRA from Sight Sciences into her surgical practice, building on eight years of experience using the OMNI system for minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS).

With new advancements designed to streamline the surgical process and provide greater control, OMNI ULTRA offers another tool to help Dr. Vendal personalize glaucoma treatment for her patients.

At Westlake Eye Specialists, we're proud to have a founder who continues to embrace innovation and bring advancements in eye care to our Central Texas community.
