I had the opportunity to sing Mr Baron today alongside the SUPERSTAR @sblythe327 with the incredible cast of LINCOLN IN THE BARDO at @metopera in our first music rehearsal with @nezetseguin while the composer herself @missymazzoli was in attendance. It was an honor to step into this role and feel the excitement and love from my colleagues. This piece is absolutely incredible and I cannot wait to see its success!! Thank you to everyone who made this experience possible!! by @westonhurt

What an INCREDIBLE visit to Leadville, CO with the cast of #theballadofbabydoe from @ccityopera - It’s such an honor to portray Horace Tabor in the 70th anniversary of the premiere this summer here where it all took place!! by @westonhurt

Speight Jenkins was the first Director of an A house that took a risk on a guy with one hand who never graduated from a prestigious YAP. He was supportive, kind, and a true mentor in helping me navigate repertoire that I never even knew I was destined for. He hired me for my first Germont, Ford, and Nabucco, and I was lucky enough to be in the last opera he cast at @seattleopera - Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda, as Talbot. I was fortunate to return to Seattle after his departure as Sharpless and for another Germont - but to me, Speight was Seattle Opera. His passion was palpable. His support for singers was evident in every decision he made. I will always be grateful and appreciative to this man for trusting me in repertoire that would eventually be where I spend the majority of my career. Photo above is the cast of STUARDA. @joyce.el.khoury , @kerialkema , @mtsbaritone , and yours truly. Rest in Peace dear Speight. by @westonhurt
