Hope Beat Cancer

WEVO at Bricon Foundation 10th year’s anniversary ceremony for cancer survivors.

It has been an awesome and learning journey with Bricon Foundation, WEVO volunteering with the different initiatives of the foundation has showed that yes Hope Can Beat Cancer and people can survive cancer with hope, love and good intensive care.

Bricon Foundation 10th year’s anniversary celebration which WEVO was privileged to championed the volunteering tasks also exposed team WEVO to experience and see various women who has survived cancer and still living strong and healthy, seeing the joy and happiness on the survivors beautiful faces indeed was a learning experience for team WEVO.

Thanks @thebriconfoundation for always calling on WEVO we indeed appreciate you for promoting youth volunteerism.

Content Creation at 2026 Commonwealth Fencing Championships

As a volunteer lead and Volunteer Coordinator at the recent concluded 2026 Commonwealth Fencing Championships hosted by Lagos, Nigeria by @nigerianfencing I thought to myself what can I do differently or how can make this athletes 🤺 feel welcome in Lagos.

I made this video to show the world that Lagos, Nigeria is a beautiful place to be and sport is a tool to unite us all and also fencing 🤺 is noble sport.

It was indeed a learning and impactful experience for me to coordinate over 40 volunteers and also ensured volunteers from @wevo_5 did their best.

Thanks @nigerianfencing @commonwealthfencing @novadiamondfoundation for giving me the platform to show one of my skills and talents.

Serving as Volunteer Coordinator for the 2026 Commonwealth Fencing Championship in Lagos, Nigeria. This experience will live with me forever.

I had the honor of coordinating over 40 volunteers throughout this international championship hosted by the Nigerian Fencing Federation @nigerianfencing . From assigning volunteers to different departments, to making sure they understood their roles, reported to duty & delivered with professionalism — every day was a lesson in leadership, delegation, communication, and accountability.

I worked across Operations, Protocol, Logistics, Data, Safety & Safeguarding. I learned how an international event actually comes together behind the scenes.

One of my most memorable moments was with the Protocol Unit at the airport. Welcoming athletes, fencers, officials, and delegates from different countries into Lagos. Seeing people from diverse cultures, languages, and backgrounds come together reminded me that sports can bring unity, Cultural exchange & Diversity.

I also had the opportunity to support para fencing, watching athletes with disabilities compete with so much skill. It showed me that inclusion isn’t just a word we say — it’s something we must practice and create.

Day to day, I coordinated volunteers in the Data Entry Room, assigned teams to fencing halls, and made sure venues were neat, prepared, and ready each morning with the Safety & Safeguarding Unit, we ensured fire extinguishers and safeguarding tools were in place.

This role made understood the importance of creativity, proactiveness, adaptability, sound judgment, and decision-making under pressure. I also got to learn from international referees and officials.

This experience strengthened my belief in the power of volunteerism. Watching 40+ young people show up and contribute to something bigger than themselves was the most rewarding part.

The lessons were invaluable, the exposure was extraordinary. The Memories will remain. Thank you @nigerianfencing for the opportunity to serve. by @wevo_5
