October, you kept us BUSY!

From Denver to Louisville and everywhere in between, The Women’s Foundation of Colorado was out and about this month! We celebrated women making history, connected with community, and showed up for the people and causes moving Colorado forward.

Here’s a little of what we’ve been up to:

We cheered on our President & CEO Renee Ferrufino as she received the 2026 Trailblazer Award at the Latinas First Foundation luncheon. We also celebrated community leaders at the Asian Leadership Foundation’s Jade Circle Gala, the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce’s Top 25 Women event, and the Rose Andom Gala.

We joined Alma Collective in Louisville and the Junior League of Denver to talk all things Womanifesto, and brought people together for brunch, ballots, and conversations across differences at our Ballots, Brunch & Bridging Divides event. We also joined Latina Power in Action: Power, Pay & Progress for Latina Equal Pay Day, featuring Mónica Ramírez, founder and CEO of Justice for Migrant Women.

We took a special tour of the Center for Colorado Women’s History and joined History Colorado to honor the women who founded The Women’s Bank of Denver in 1978 and celebrate the conclusion of its exhibit.

We celebrated community and generosity at Boobapalooza, the annual event hosted by The Community Chest, a giving circle housed at WFCO, and gathered with supporters at a house party hosted by Stephanie Cohn Rupp.

And our Director of Policy & Advocacy, Alison Friedman Phillips, shared insights about The Womanifesto with the Aspen Daily News!

Whew! What a month.

To everyone who welcomed us, partnered with us, celebrated with us, and showed up for Colorado women: THANK YOU. We’re grateful to be part of a community that keeps showing up for one another.

“Sí, se puede.” Yes, we can.

We are mourning the loss of Dolores Huerta, a trailblazing organizer, feminist, and champion for justice who spent her life showing us the power of collective action.

As co-founder of the United Farm Workers, she fought for the dignity and rights of farmworkers. As an advocate for women and communities of color, she challenged systems that left too many people unheard. And as a leader, she inspired generations to believe their voices mattered and change was possible.

Over the years, members of The Women's Foundation of Colorado family have had the privilege of meeting Dolores. Earlier this month, our team also had the opportunity to hear her daughter speak on her behalf at the @latinasfirstfoundation's 15th Anniversary Luncheon. Her legacy has touched generations, including our own community here in Colorado.

Dolores understood that progress doesn't happen on its own. It takes people willing to speak up, stand together, and keep going, even when the work is hard.

Rest in power, Dolores. Your legacy lives on in every woman who raises her voice and every community working toward a more just future. Sí, se puede. by @wfcolorado

One application. A simpler process.
With the Unity Fund, your organization completes one application that moves through a coordinated review process among participating funding partners. We know how much time grant applications take. This is one way funders can carry more of that weight together.
Grants range from $25,000 to $50,000. Applications close November 12 at 5p.m. MT. Learn more and apply through our link in bio.
If you have any questions, email: coloradounityfund@gmail.com.

Make your voice count! Return your ballot by 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3. by @wfcolorado

@wfcolorado held an awesome Brunch and Ballots event while showcasing the awesome work of @sumitup4u and her documentary Mandorla. I was so impressed with the films vision and drive into how to bridge differing perspectives in policy creation.

Every girl deserves to play. Every family deserves to make private medical decisions. And no politician should get to decide who counts as a woman.

In today's @denverpost, our President & CEO Renee Ferrufino explains why Propositions 134 and 135 threaten the freedom and dignity of women and girls across Colorado.

These measures won't make child care more affordable, put more money in women's pockets, or help families get ahead.

Colorado women and girls deserve real solutions, not more restrictions.

Not every ballot measure moves Colorado forward.

This November, we are recommending a NO vote on eight statewide ballot measures that could create new barriers for women, families, and communities.

From protecting access to health care and keeping families together to defending voting rights and supporting survivors, these issues affect our everyday lives.

Every vote helps shape the kind of Colorado we want to live in. And we believe that should be a state where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Before you fill out your ballot, take a few minutes to understand what's at stake.

Vote with women in mind by November 3 by @wfcolorado

What would a more equitable Colorado look like?

A state where families can afford child care. Where schools have the resources they need. And where our tax system works for more Coloradans.

That's why we recommend voting YES on Amendment 87 and Proposition NN this November.

✔️ Amendment 87 would create a fairer tax system, cutting taxes for 97% of Colorado filers while generating funding for education, health care, and child care.

✔️ Proposition NN would allow Colorado to keep and invest approximately $4.6 billion in K-12 education and child care.

These measures could help build a stronger Colorado where women and families can thrive.
