We lift heavy. We run. We do it 5 times a week because we are gluttons for punishment. Pahaha!

So, we have to make room for Lagree/Pilates or yoga.

Because strong is great. Strong + mobile + stable is better.

Pilates is so good for the things lifting alone doesn’t always give me. More flexibility, better balance, core control and muscular endurance. Think about pushing a sled, lunges or running. Those movements require horsepower! We need hips and ankles that move, a trunk that can stabilize under fatigue, balance, body control and the ability to move well when you’re TIRED.

Lift for strength. Run for capacity. Pilates for the quality of the movement in between.

That combination? 🫠🤌🏾 And don’t be a Judgy Judy, I’m still new to this modality 🤭

I once was told,

“This bad situation will start to affect your work.”

I replied,

“Only if I give it permission.”

Not every bad situation deserves access to your peace.

Circumstances can be disruptive. People can disappoint. Life can become loud. But there is a difference between something happening around you and allowing it to take residence within you.

If you are called to the space you are in, remain there with purpose.

Gird your loins.
Guard your heart.
Protect the assignment.

Haven't posted in a while! Life has been so busy and also I've felt really lead not to. It seems like just when I want to share something, I'm convicted about if I 'need' to share. I go back to why and realize it's overshare.

This post just felt right. My sister @ugochiwall and owner of @littlefishnursery is now a published author! To say I am proud is an understatement. So much is possible in what God can do when you are obedient and do His will. My previous post about "being a pencil in the hands of God" is even more true now. @ugochiwall personifies that. Good for you Ugo.

As I reflect on what you did, I'm encouraged to contribute to this world, with content that is holy and edifying to those around me. Thank you sis for helping me do 😏

Life has been so full of surprises this 2021. We found out we were pregnant late last year after 9 months of trying. I know that's nothing in comparison to some stories, but it's evidence that it's His plan - not ours.

We found out we were having another.... GIRL! So, the girl gang continues. 🥰🎀 People say, "have your second kid, it'll be fun. They'll be close in age and be able to play with one another." Only... being pregnant with a toddler 👏🏾is 👏🏾no joke!

The baby shower was obvious! If you're going to have a 'gaggle of girls,' might as well bring out the frills and fascinators! Thank you @feisty_meems @rialedup & Laetitia for blessing me beyond my expectations. And, for everyone who attended; thank you for your prayers and love to baby girl #2. We love you so much and are blessed to continuing this season with you.😘

Today I've been married for 5 years. For some, that amount of time is a snack to their 25, 50, etc. To me, it feels like so much more.

The world will tell you that you should get married. Disney basically stops their movies after the princess finds her Prince Charming and they get married. Why? Well, because that's THE pinnacle ending. What else can happen that will cause you any more happiness and fulfillment, Right? The truth, there's a whole heck of a lot that can happen. The choice to GET married is not the pinnacle.

Marriage is the single hardest thing you will do. Don't let anyone tell you different. It's also the most edifying, gratifying, redeeming, beautiful, empowering, delicious, (yea, I said it) purposeful, and biblically recognizable choice you'll ever make.

It requires a part of you that you have never met, and the parts of you that you have met still need tremendous refining.

Yes, you get a best friend and teammate - maybe even a permanent snuggle buddy. You also get someone who, in some seasons, will know you better than you know yourself.

Marriage will require more of you than you ever thought was possible, but only so you know that whatever you were giving before was a mere quotient of its potential.

Your vows at your wedding, yes, those are real. You realize how real those vows are as you unlearn all the damage you picked up and learn all the things that make your marriage attractive along each passing year. And, that is what marriage is!

It's making a choice, born from a vow, in front of everyone you love, to STAY (the pinnacle) married. It's so that your union is attractive to others, yourself, and your spouse. It's so that when asked (internally or externally) you can say because...

I choose everyday (okay most), through the,"oh it's sooo good" & the, "pray from me, it's bad."

To 5 years baby and so many, many, many (100xs) more.

Have you ever asked yourself, what does it mean to know and be known fully? I have often asked myself this: Is it possible to be completely, vulnerably myself - shortcomings in all and still be fully loved... being fully loved really is the most beautiful and amazing bond I can have with another human being. Short of my husband, I’m not sure I can assign that type of love to anyone on earth.

You may not be married, however, I can assure you that there is a God in awe of you. A God who knows me/you better than anyone on earth. More than that, He loves us to the deepest, darkest, grittiest, and ugliest depth of who we are and what we have done AND yet, He STILL loves us/you fully. Just two girls in the New York City - tearin’ it up with: killer workouts, resale shopping, church, questionable meal choices, furrrr #insidejoke, and table 13 with Chris (which did not work at all this time.). It was such a blast and it was much need! Now!!!! Back to days with my mini.

Sister 👏🏾friend 👏🏾honey child👏🏾 the grass only looks greener on the other side because it is totally and utterly fraudulent. I’ve done it; I’ve projected something greener when I knew it was wilted.
We are all in this thing call life together - green or not doing the best we can to tend to our OWN lawns. So, enjoy your grass before you go to your neighbor’s lawn hating only to find out it’s astro turf. Water your grass friends and watch it grow!
