I was invited to try the Houston Restaurant Weeks Menu at @bosscatkitchen @houstonrestaurantweeks $25 LUNCH WITH TWO OPTIONS $39 DINNER WITH THREE OPTIONS We started with the Strawberry & Burrata Caprese Salad with sweet strawberries, vine-ripened tomatoes, creamy burrata, fresh basil, aged balsamic glaze, EVOO, flaky sea salt & cracked black pepper. It was so refreshing, light and had the perfect sweet taste from the strawberries. We also tried the Crawfish Hush Puppies with Cajun gravy. The hush puppies were crispy with Louisiana crawfish folded inside, and the cajun gravy really took them up a notch! Definitely ask for extra gravy! I loved that these were a fun twist on the regular plain hush puppies but I wish they were a bit more flavorful! The Spinach & Artichoke Egg Rolls (not on HRW menu) were the bite of the night! We ordered two, and they were SO delicious, especially dipped in that sauce on the side! Definitely a must-try! For the entrées, we tried the Cornmeal-Crusted Catfish over wild mushroom risotto with a sweet chili glaze. I’m not a huge mushroom fan, but the catfish was not too crispy, moist and delicious! This was probably one of my favorite things I tried! The Bourbon Brisket Burger & Fries with bacon, white cheddar, crispy onion straws, bourbon BBQ sauce and pickles on a toasted brioche bun. The brisket was flavorful without being too fatty, the fries were good, bourbon bbq was chefs kiss! Their ketchup?! Literally the best I’ve ever tried! The Blackened Chicken Alfredo was another comforting classic with a bold cajun flavor. I wish they used a different pasta, but overall, it was pretty good! For dessert, we finished with the Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding served warm with vanilla ice cream! It was such a nice way to end off with a sweet treat! If you haven’t checked out HRW yet, you still have about two weeks left, until September 7th, so make sure you get out there and try some of these menus before it’s over! I usually get the salmon & avocado cobb salad from @moxiesusa but decided to change it up this time. I went last month after watching Michael. Pictured is the cheeseburger & 1Ib beef & cheese nachos. Both menu items tasted amazing! If brioche is on a burger, I’m getting it. Also the meat was cooked perfectly medium rare & I loved the crunchy pickle on top. The nachos as our appetizer definitely hit the spot & were loaded.
