After spending the night at the hospital, we finally get to take our baby home. And somehow, everything feels even more perfect than we ever imagined.
The intimacy, the connection between my hubby and I and the way we instantly clicked with our baby boy. Our puzzle was complete.
This love story of ours created our greatest love story yet. A little heartbeat made from our love, carrying half of him and half of me. A tiny person who holds pieces of both of us.
We spent so much time dreaming about this moment, imagining the little face we’d fall in love with, the name we’d give him, and the day we’d finally get to hold him in our arms. Now, here we are, walking out of the hospital with our greatest blessing, beginning a chapter that will forever change our lives.

Who would’ve thought I would be in labor for more than 24 hours? Not me. 🥹
My water hadn’t broken, I wasn’t dilated, and there wasn’t much happening besides this sharp pain that kept telling me something wasn’t right. But deep down, something in me was saying, Go to the hospital. Get checked. Trust your body.
And that’s exactly what I did.
At 6 PM SLT on October 15th, we arrived at the hospital. After more than 24 hours of labor and seemingly no progress, we knew something was happening. The doctor checked my vitals and made sure I was okay, but truthfully, I was scared. The pain was there, the thoughts were racing, and the questions wouldn’t stop.

Dad was very supportive, it honestly matters the partner you choose. In this moment I knew he wanted this as much as I did. Our doctor @the.sweet.syryn.sl never gave up on us. She was cautious, attentive, and present through every moment. She watched my vitals, listened to my concerns, and made sure both my baby and I were being cared for. And for that, I’ll forever be grateful.
Time passed, but I still wasn’t dilating. My water still hadn’t broken. And somehow, in the middle of all this uncertainty, I decided there was one thing I absolutely needed.
A pickle. 🥒😭
A PICKLE? You might be asking, “Gen, girl, why a pickle?”
Girl, I DON’T KNOW. 😂 I’ve been craving them my entire pregnancy, and I guess I needed one last pickle before bringing this little man into the world!
But let me tell you something… the moment I finished that pickle, it was GO TIME. 😭🤍
