Helsinki Baltic Herring Market 4–10 October 2026

One of Helsinki’s most traditional autumn events is back at Market Square! ⚓️

Start with Schooner Kathrina and enjoy their must-try salmon soup (€16), served with homemade archipelago bread in the unique atmosphere of an old sailing ship. Smaller bites include salmon sandwiches (€6) and homemade buns (€3.50).

🧡 Heikukankaan Tyrni – Sea buckthorn juice, glögi, jam and sea buckthorn powder.

🇦🇽 Kökar Senap – Delicious mustards from Åland.
Must try! 😋

⚓️ m/aux VIVAN – Salmon soup (€12), buy also some Baltic herring, pickles, archipelago bread and pickled chanterelles.

🔥 Loimukeisarin Rullaamo – Making their Herring Market debut! Try the flame-grilled salmon wrap (€16).

🐟 Fisherman Vento Aalto – Lampreys from Ahvenkoski (€4 each) and Baltic herring delicacies from Pyhämaa. The lemon & ginger herring is a must-try!

⛵️ Galeas Valborg – Salmon or vegetable soup (€14) inside the sailing ship. You can buy also beer from Viapori Brewery.

🥒 Kasalan Kahvila from Merikarvia – Delicious cucumber salad "hölsky" and Baltic herring patties.

🧄 Ruukin Kastike – Garlic mayonnaise and marinated garlic cloves from Eura, must try!

🌊 Flavours from Merikarvia / Fisherman Toni Rantanen – Sea buckthorn juice, honey, lampreys and Baltic herring delicacies.
