Days 3 & 4 in Guatemala 🌋🌋🥾☀️🐕

Climbed Volcán Acatenango (possibly one of the hardest things I’ve ever done) but extremely worth it bc wdym this was my view (before my phone and camera both died) and got to camp on an active volcano?! No juegues conmigo🤸‍♀️

Days 1 & 2 in Guatemalaaa🇬🇹🇬🇹🐕🛺🔔🔔🌟

Arrived in Guatemala City at 4am and spent the next two days walking through Antigua during semana santa (holy week). During this week streets are covered in alfombras, which are intricate carpets made from colored sawdust, flowers, and sand and created as offerings and then walked over by the processions. In these processions people (including children and adults) carry massive floats called andas through the city for hours, often starting in the early morning (around 3am) and continuing into the next morning (around 1am), as an act of penitence and devotion and many doing it to reflect, honor loved ones, or to release personal struggles. Locals say over 1 million people come to Antigua just to celebrate on the Sunday of semana santa (when the main celebrations take place)
