Our photo of Natalia & Jose in Sommarøy, Norway🇳🇴 — shot during the polar night, on a frozen beach, with nothing but blue light and snow around them — has been selected among the Best of the Best 2026 by Junebug Weddings. Top 50 engagement photos in the world.

When we flew to Norway for this session, we had no idea what we were walking into. No sun. No golden hour. Temperatures that made our hands shake. And two people so deeply in love that none of it mattered.

We’re Emanuele & Federica. We photograph elopements across Italy and wherever love takes us. And today, we’re incredibly proud.

Ever wish you could just hit pause on the world, step away from all the noise, and create a day that’s 100% about you?

To us, that’s the very essence of an elopement: giving yourselves time, choosing each other, and creating a little bubble where, for a moment, nothing else really matters.

And that’s exactly what Zarlene & Marc did.

They found a small, beautiful cottage on a hillside overlooking Lake Lungern, surrounded by the Swiss landscape, and made it their own peaceful world for the day. No big reception, no massive guest list, no elaborate details, and zero pressure to impress anyone. Just the two of them, their story, and everything they had already built together.

The whole day felt so simple, calm, and effortless. There was room to slow down, to be fully present, and to celebrate where they’ve been and everything that brought them to this moment.
Honestly, watching them was such a beautiful reminder that you don’t need to add more noise to make a day meaningful. Sometimes, less really is so much more.

It was simply two people, one story, a place that felt like theirs, and a whole day to celebrate it.

Lehi & Fi’s elopement has been selected for the @junebugweddings Choice Awards!

Another milestone, and we honestly couldn’t be happier. 🥹🤍

When we first found out about the nomination, we were over the moon. Not only because this is an elopement we absolutely love, but because there’s a story behind it that says a lot about who we are and what we care about. And that makes us incredibly proud.

When we started planning their day, Philippa had one dream above everything else: getting married at San Galgano Abbey, that incredible and iconic place in the heart of the Tuscan hills. It’s one of those places that almost doesn’t look real until you actually stand there and see it with your own eyes.

The only little detail? San Galgano is pretty iconic. Which also means that getting a date there isn’t exactly easy. The waiting list is long, and bookings usually happen way, way in advance.

So when Philippa called, she was told there was no availability.

We could have simply moved on to another option.

But behind the scenes, we weren’t ready to give up just yet. 😂

And so it started: phone calls, emails, more phone calls, more emails… and somehow, after a lot of persistence, we managed to secure a spot for them.

You should have seen Philippa’s reaction when we told her. 🥹

We still have her messages saved, and every now and then we go back and read them again. Not gonna lie, they’re a pretty great little confidence boost when we need one. 😂

Because that’s what this elopement means to us.

It’s not just about how beautiful San Galgano is, or how much we love the photos. It’s about knowing that something that mattered so much to our couple almost didn’t happen, and deciding that we weren’t quite ready to let that dream go.

And now we need you guys. ❤️

Have you ever seen Ethan Hunt planning a Dolomites wedding proposal? Because that’s pretty much how we felt while planning John and Lauren’s surprise proposal.💍

For days, there were secret conversations, carefully planned agreements, positions marked on the map, and a lot of figuring out exactly where everyone needed to be without giving Lauren the slightest clue about what was happening. Then, of course, came the unexpected moments that forced us to change plans on the fly.

Planning a surprise proposal is a completely different kind of adventure. You’re not just thinking about the perfect location or the perfect moment. You’re constantly checking where everyone is, making sure the timing works, trying to stay one step ahead, and hoping absolutely nothing gives the surprise away.

The adrenaline definitely did the rest.

Barcelona elopement inspiration: what if the best part of your wedding day is the part that makes absolutely no sense to anyone else?

Most people think there are rules when it comes to weddings.

Wake up. Get ready. Ceremony. Dinner. Dance floor.

But the beautiful thing about an elopement is that none of those rules are actually required.

You can exchange vows on a mountaintop.

You can wander through your favorite neighborhood.

You can spend the afternoon eating pastries and drinking coffee.

Or…

You can take your wedding photos in the Barcelona metro.

Because why not?

One of our favorite things about elopements is watching couples give themselves permission to follow ideas that feel completely, wonderfully theirs.

Not because they’re trendy.

Not because they look good on Instagram.

But because they’ll remember them forever.

The metro in Barcelona wasn’t part of some perfectly curated wedding vision. It was spontaneous, unexpected, a little chaotic, and honestly? It felt exactly like them.

That’s the thing.

The best elopements aren’t the ones that follow the rules.

They’re the ones that follow the couple.

So if you’re planning a Barcelona elopement, here’s your reminder:

You don’t need permission.

Not from tradition.

Tuscany elopement photographer tip: choose the people before you choose the photos.

This might be one of the most important pieces of advice we can give any couple planning an elopement.

There won’t be hundreds of guests, a packed reception, or dozens of vendors constantly moving around you.

Most of the time, it will simply be you, your partner, and the few people you’ve intentionally invited into your bubble.

And that changes everything.

When you spend an entire day with your photographer, the experience isn’t shaped by their portfolio alone. It’s shaped by their presence.

By how they make you feel.

By whether you can be completely yourselves around them.

By whether they feel like a stranger holding a camera, or someone you’d genuinely enjoy sharing a coffee, a road trip, or a sunrise with.

This Tuscany elopement took place between San Galgano and Borgo Santo Pietro, but the lesson applies anywhere in the world.

A beautiful photo is technical.

Connection isn’t.

You can show a photographer your Pinterest board. You can explain your vision. You can send inspiration photos.

What you can’t control is how someone makes you feel.

And those feelings will find their way into your memories.

Years from now, you won’t remember every camera angle or every composition.

You’ll remember whether you felt comfortable.

Whether you felt seen.

Whether you felt free to be yourselves.

That’s why we believe the relationship between a couple and their elopement photographer matters so much.

Not because it creates better photos.

But because it creates a better experience.

And when the experience is real, the photos become recognizable.

Not perfect.
