Isn’t the cover lovely and happy and festive?!

This book, you guys! There’s something special about it. It’s like a jolt of joy is infused in every scene.

I’ve been longing to write a Christmas book since I published Together With You back in 2022! I wrote the first iteration of this story in the fall of 2023 (for that reason!), but it just… wasn’t working. I promptly shelved it and didn’t think about it again until the following fall.

Fall of 2024, I got it back out and fiddled with the storyline, making some pretty significant changes. I couldn’t get the ending right, though, so I tucked it away again, chalking it up as a fun, creative exercise and nothing more. I didn’t even consider it last year.

Fast forward to this summer, and thanks to the encouragement of a friend, I took one more look at this story, and when I read it again with fresh eyes, I remembered how much I loved it. And then the idea for the ending hit me. I typed out a new 20K words; I edited what I’d written before; I added more details and moments to maximize the Christmas-y spirit of the story.

And here we are, with a charming, cozy, heartwarming full-length holiday romance that’s been sitting in my drafts folder (in some way, shape, or form!) for the past three years. 🎄

I cannot wait to share it with you—in less than a month!!

In case I haven’t made my stance on generative AI abundantly clear … please support human art. 🫶

I’ve recently started documenting my writing time in a different way so I have “proof” that I’m the one doing all this writing. Like, what?? It’s a wild time to be a creative, folks.

But! Any chance you have to lift up a human artist/maker/creative, just do it. We’ll all be better for it in the long run.

P.S. Yesterday I wrote what might be one of my favorite scenes ever. AI could never.
