Little Mags had a dream. I dreamed of being a wedding cake designer. My own business, my own patisserie, walking in my French heritage footsteps. After some time as a professional pastry chef, I decided to lay that dream down and made peace with the idea that it might not be for me anymore.

Surprisingly, life took me another way, working with families and children for over ten years, and that has been the biggest gift. Nothing looks how I thought it might, and yet here I am, getting to do both the things I love: loving people through food, and helping mums build healthy relationships with themselves and their children. What a privilege.

What I’m trying to wrap my head around is that what I thought was a pipe dream belonging to little Mags might be something grown-up Mags actually gets to live. It’s starting to feel tangible. Watching my portfolio grow feels a bit surreal, and I’m actually starting to feel proud of it! The idea of being able to add to it and bring even more joy to people’s special days feels pretty great.

✨ Some gifts wait patiently for us, and it seems that this one has been placed back in my hands to steward and grow.

This little reel marks a moment that feels so exciting, and I can’t wait to share more with you soon.

I’m feeling grateful and hopeful for what’s coming. If you’d like to watch it hopefully continue to grow, you’re so welcome here! 🫶🏼 by @whatmagsmakes

Sometimes I think cupcakes can be a bit overrated…and then they just become another playground to get creative with ✨

Handmade sugar flowers topping piped swiss meringue buttercream and chocolate sponge for a fairytale theme order from a lovely repeat client. Yom! 🧚🏼

When a repeat customer comes back with a ✨fairytale✨ themed brief, naturally I’m jumping straight into the challenge!

Chocolate sponge, Swiss meringue buttercream, and topped with edible decorations 🌸 👑 🍃 🦋 ✨🫧

The last time I made sugar flowers like these was during my A-levels when I absolutely should have been revising… but look where it got me 😂

Safe to say I had a lot of fun with this order!

Gooey choc pud pots because I’m sick and feeling sorry for myself 🙂‍↕️🤧😂

Save and follow for more at-home showstoppers!

This recipe couldn’t be easier and so quick to make for those evenings where you want to rustle up a sweet treat that’s impossible to get wrong (um unless you overcook it 🫣)

Alternatively you could chuck in some crushed frozen rasps, mini marshmallows or chopped cherries..whatever you feel inspired by🍒

Bon ap! 👩🏻‍🍳
