KULTURED 004: EKITIIBWA. To know where we come from. To honor what we carry. To preserve what makes us who we are. Photographer: @whatmearonsees Jewelry: @the.brand.sen Model: @joycrystals Assist: @jordierae_ Studio: @southfacingwindows @canonusa by @whatmearonsees
KULTURED 002: CHALLEE QARMA More than adornment, the Challee Qarma reflects the creativity of Oromo women of East Africa, who transformed beads into a language of identity, beauty, and belonging. Worn with intention, these beadwork traditions became a lasting expression of culture and craftsmanship. A testament to women who have shaped culture by hand, carrying the past forward while keeping it unmistakably alive in the present. To the women who create. KULTURED 003: AGBAJO ỌWỌ LÁ FIŃ SOYÀ A Yoruba proverb - “It is with a clenched fist that we beat our chest.” To build kinship. To preserve culture. To move forward. None of it happens alone. KULTURED 001: UNCONTAINED The duality between heritage & existing within two realities. “Kultured” is a series that visually documents the lived expression of cultural multiplicity. Where cultures merge, tradition breathes, and expression finds new life in the hands of those who carry it. Culture moves. So do we. ——— Director & photographer: @whatmearonsees Model: @jordierae_ Assist: @joycrystals Studio: @southfacingwindows by @whatmearonsees

Simple matters. by @whatmearonsees
I’m privileged, spoiled even, for the friends in my life I get to create with. Letting my new series “Kultured” see the light of day and how sweet that I’m having @jordierae_ and @joycrystals be a part of the first shoot I released under it. Can’t go without thanking the greatest team over at @southfacingwindows for opening their doors for me to just create. Don’t know how the journey will go, I’m just glad I started! To God be the glory. Keep your eyes on @theancdt for what’s to come <3 by @whatmearonsees
