Da-da-danke to all of you sweet sporties who showed up at da-da-da #24, joined the Urban Recycle Sports Club, hopped on the Recyclette and even worked up a sweat! As always, we’re overwhelmed by how many of you came and made the evening what it was 🫶

And, of course, a big thank you goes out to @plastikfabrik as well—for the best sports club in town, the coolest front window and for turning pedalling into recycling!

If you missed it: The Urban Recycling Sports Club can be joined in the next six weeks and maybeeee cold drinks on our sun terrace are part of a membership 😎 See you soon!

da-da-da #24:
Urban Recycle Sports Club / @plastikfabrik

Freitag, 24.04.2026
19:00 — Eröffnung
19:30 — Einführung

Der „Urban Recycle Sports Club“ – presented by Plastikfabrik – sucht neue Member!

No excuses. Just reps. Wir sehen uns beim Leg-Day 😎

–

The “Urban Recycle Sports Club”—presented by Plastikfabrik—is looking for new members!

We count our steps, track our progress and constantly work on ourselves—but our approach to plastic remains surprisingly underdeveloped. Time for an upgrade: recycling turns into a workout!

The star of the gym: the “Recyclette”! An exercise bike from the 70s becomes a functional recycling machine. Plastic is processed on the spot using pedal power—movement meets material, training meets transformation. Good for the environment—and good for the booty 😏

Come over, bring some clean soft plastic and spin on the “Recycle-Bicycle”. Whether it’s a short session or endurance training: every spin counts!

No excuses. Just reps. See you on Leg Day 😎

Konnichiwa! If you haven’t caught our latest da-da-da by @maikepaul.de yet—now’s the time! We’re welcoming you, both inside and outside the studio, until the end of next week.

Drop by for a coffee, peek through the window and dive into the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig photo archive that will beam you straight to Japan (and far, far away from the rainy grey German weather—brrr!).

And yes—Japan is still available for Take-Away! All photos and portable bricks are for sale, so grab your favorite piece and support Maike 🙏

This is the final da-da-da of 2025, but we’re already busy planning the next season. And at the end of the month, another big party is coming up! 🥳🎉,🎈

This time, it’s more than just a da-da-danke—it’s a full-on arigatō-arigatō-arigatō!

We’re still overwhelmed by the sheer mass of you who came by to our—once small—da-da-da! We loooooove having you here, and we hope our studio still feels like a comfy place to you.

We had the BEST week with @maikepaul.de and @fujiokyohei.jp and loved every moment of having them here, developing Maike’s work in our space. Da-da-danke for your sweet and kind personalities, the talks, the food, and the laughs. The vernissage is such a big part of da-da-da—but for us, it always begins long before.

Picking the best pics for this post was almost impossible—because @mr_joas only took wooooooow shots. Da-da-danke! We’re really sad that you’re leaving Saarbrücken—but maybe one day another da-da-da will match with a visit back here :)

And thaaaaank you, dear @doerrjulian, for your spontaneous but perfectly picked DJ set, which turned this Japanese evening into a perfect one!

As you can see, we’re still enjoying this wonderful da-da-da with @maikepaul.de—truly made so very special by all of you!

da-da-da #23: das foto ist ein bild / Maike Paul @kemai3

Freitag, 05.09.2025
19:00 — Eröffnung
19:30 — Einführung

da-da-da #23!
–
For the 23rd edition, designer Maike Paul (Saarbrücken/Kyoto) presents “das foto ist ein bild” (the photo is an image.)
Curiosity guides her practice: searching for subtle distinctions and unique impressions, she ventures into unfamiliar terrain. Her images appear not only in the exhibition space, but also on portable objects — moving through the streets of Saarbrücken and opening space for speculation about their function and meaning. From far away to da-da-da.
写真はイメージです – the photo is an image. On Japanese packaging, this phrase works like “serving suggestion”: an idealized version. It also shows a nuance: in Japanese, “photo” means “copy of truth”, while “image” embraces impression, imagination, appearance. Maike’s photographs are not truths, but impressions—images.
From Japan for all senses: drinks, music & everyday objects to take home!

🍊 Fill in – International Jazz Festival Saar 🦁 Corporate Identity 🔥

While we’re enjoying the summer sun, we’re taking a moment to look back at a pretty exciting first half of the year. One of our highlights: the new visual identity for @fillinfestival, developed together with the amazing team at @k8.institut. 🧡 Congratulations on a successful third edition of the festival—we loved being in the mix!

And of course, a biiiiiiiiiiig thank you to the team for letting us paint Saarbrücken orange—and yes, it’s officially the MM, M-colour of the year 😅

Just 10 more days to go! The countdown is on until white in white takes over our studio walls again. @budke.xyz has been with us almost every day over the past few weeks, adding a special touch to our (work)days. We’re a little sad to see it go, but already looking forward to the next da-da-da in September with @kemai3—and of course to everyone who stops by in the coming days ☺️☺️, ☺️
