WTF gals never gatekeep…

As much as this platform is for everyone in the industry (and our friends outside of it), our hearts are especially with those who aren’t quite sure what comes next, the “young artist,” if you will.

I can say this from the both of us, that last year we were sitting in a place of real uncertainty and anxiety. We kept asking each other: “What’s the next step?” “How do we create opportunities for ourselves?” “Why didn’t I get (insert job you really wanted) when I felt so good about my audition?”

Those questions don’t magically disappear, but what matters is what you do with them. Learning to sit inside the unknown is what fuels growth, resilience, and ultimately, creativity! Hence, this podcast!

Now obviously we don’t have all the answers, but if there is one nugget of wisdom to take it’s that you are not alone in this career! Find your people. Having someone to talk to about it makes all the difference!✨

For example, Clover and I give each other a time limit for how long we can sulk about an audition gone wrong, a rejection, or a poor performance. 🤪 (I give you 24 hours and then back on that horse, cowgirl!) by @whatthefachpod

We’ve been absolutely blown away by the response to our first podcast episode! Thank you so much to everyone who’s listened on Spotify! 🩷 We’re working on getting it onto Apple Podcasts next, so hang tight if that’s your go-to.

We’re so, so grateful. Keep your eyes peeled for updates on Episode 2, dropping in a couple of weeks! 👀✨

Our episode with @teatroallaflopera just dropped!

Have you listened? If so, you will hear more amazing mic drops like this. 🎤✨👑 by @whatthefachpod

We always ask our WTF guests: what’s something you wish you could tell your younger self?

So often in school, we’re trying to please everyone and questioning whether we’re “good enough” or even a “real musician?” (Especially as singers!!)

We loved hearing @teatroallaflopera’s take on this✨🪩💖 by @whatthefachpod

You know Flopera.

The anonymous voice behind one of opera’s most entertaining corners of the internet is joining us on the podcast! Hooray!!
But who is Flopera? Why stay anonymous? And what does it look like to be in the know without ever revealing your name?

Have you listened to our pod episode on mental health in the industry? We sit down with Hattie Butterworth who gives some wonderful advice to the dear diva listener who is questioning their degree.

Have you ever felt like you can’t leave performing because you’ve spent too much time and money on the degree or many degrees? This is a great episode for you to listen to! ✨🎙️ by @whatthefachpod

Here on WTF, talking about mental health is incredibly important to us.

Those of you who know us personally know that we both live with mental health conditions. And… by golly, we’re still able to do our jobs, and do them quite well, if I do say so myself!

In this episode, Hattie opens up about her own experience, reminding us that we’re not alone and that it’s absolutely possible to have a fulfilling career while managing your mental health.

We especially hope this conversation reaches our younger listeners who are still in conservatoire and wondering what life after training might look like. We see you, we’ve been there, and we hope this helps. by @whatthefachpod

Ever find yourself checking reviews mainly to see whether someone mentioned you? Hattie Butterworth explains why we do that and what it means.

Major apologies to tree #6 for not being mentioned in the review. You were great though!!!! by @whatthefachpod

Introducing…Hattie Butterworth! Our next guest on the pod was an absolute JOY to host. She is so articulate, thoughtful, and full of warm, cozy energy that made us want to be besties and hangout more. We hope you enjoy our next episode as much as we enjoyed making it. ✨ by @whatthefachpod
