I am absolutely crushed and devastated. Brandon was the first NBA player/professional athlete to give me an opportunity at that level when I was 18 years old, and I am now 23. He was never just a client to me, and he never treated me like just a barber. He treated me like a little brother. He never inconvenienced me or tried to take advantage of me. He always treated me with the utmost respect and, from what I saw, treated everyone around him the same way.

I will never forget the conversations that we had, whether it was about sports, politics, video games, or science fiction TV shows and movies. Most importantly, I’ll never forget how he took a chance on me without hesitation, spoke highly of me, and expressed how proud he was of my growth from when we first met.

This feels like losing one of your favorite superheroes as a child because, through him, I was able to live out parts of my childhood through my career. Now, the person who helped start that journey is no longer here.
