A little recap of me celebrating myself as an Indonesian woman on Kartini day wearing batik (supposedly kebaya) for skate. With my Buqiet Kartini and Kartono 🤪

For me, being a woman in the rollerskate scene is really challenging. Some of us women not a fast learner. Sometimes we are not as brave as the guys. But having each other's back and support from my girls really encourage me to be just present and do what I love. It's always fun to skate with girls 🤍

Bandung lacked of proper mini quarter. Because I am craving to do tricks on mini quarter, and as I starting from zero, high quarters are terrifying for me.
So, while in Jakarta, elbricks is the only destination 😊

Eventho I'm just cruisin around, I learn to make reels more often. Not used to always record every moments. But, at least I tried ✌🏼😬 and, oh! Like @shortstop.6 said, protections are cool. And sexy (also I don't wanna risk my knee and any parts of my body. Again.) tee hee 😄
Thank you @kickfestid @byu.id for having @quadskate.bdg @ghostbandung! 🛼🔥

On September 7th 2023, I got my PCL surgery on my left knee That wasn't my first. It was my third (first on the right ankle, and then the right knee. And both was a really long time ago, before I skate). A year after the surgery, to be honest, I have skated. Not much. Just once or twice. It was friggin' horrifying!!!

I started reaaaaaally slow. No pressure on myself. Starting by how to land safely on my right knee (I used to land on my left knee, the injured one). You won't see me did various tricks. No new tricks. For now, I only do my "safe tricks", because I avoid to fall on a random position. I am doing what is familiar to me. Turns out, I lost my muscle memory!! Plus the mental block is real.

But, one thing that I know. When I saw these video, I know what's been missing while I took a break. I saw my laugh, my smile, and turns out..... I DO MISS ME HAPPY WHILE I'M SKATING!!! I know I could do it, but. Allow me to take things slow, to regain my muscle memory back until I am 100% sure that my knee is stronger. No ambition, just enjoying the process and the silliness 😆

When I got my first pair of roller skates, I immediately learn how to fall and get up safely. Repeatedly. To record my muscle memory! And now I feel the impact. My knees are the one think I should land on when I lost balance, not wrist
