another year, another Trans Day of Visibility 🩷🤍🩵to celebrate this year i’m going to write out some thing that I DID NOT KNOW just a few short years ago - way before i realized that there was a fuller me waiting to come out:- transgender DOES NOT MEAN going to the “opposite” gender: you either identify with the gender you were assigned at birth (cisgender) or you do not (transgender)- gender and sexuality are related concepts do NOT have an effect on each other, trans lesbians exist (hint👀)- being trans is internal: trans people can present as being cis every day, it doesn’t make them any less trans- using new pronouns for somebody is weird the first time you do it, notable the second time, and perfectly natural the third time you do it - gender (like sexuality) is a spectrum, not a dichotomy. how you feel can (and will) change over time- being trans is not about the clothes you wear, the length of your hair, or the friends you keep. it’s about deciding to tell yourself and the world that you deserve to be treated the way you feel is right by @where.is.nox

Mom 🩷 mom, mom, mom. I love you. I will always love you. I am so grateful for the life you gave me. I’m so grateful for the things you taught me early on - how to play, the joy of music, and how to take care of yourself. I can’t believe that I will live the rest of my life without seeing you or Dad again. You were so happy together, and that happiness radiates through me as I live my life.The world was not always fair to you, and I know that you were always doing your best. I forgive you for the things you needed forgiven. I know you gave me chances you always wished you had in life, and I promise to use that well.You touched a lot of lives as a teacher, and I know that you were a Mom in so many aspects of your life. You were so proud of me, and I’m glad I got to show you that I’m going to be okay. Cancer is an awful thing, and I know you fought your hardest. It’s just awful luck that you developed such an aggressive disease. I’m grateful I could help you through the worst of it.Here’s to saturday morning cartoons, vanilla ice cream cones from mcdonald’s, and lots and lots of dogs. 🗓️ Jan ‘26An exhilarating non-stop emotional roller coaster of a month. 5 countries, 15 trains, 5 flights, dozens of ubers and subways, and even one Onewheel errand. Some lifelong memories were made and a lot of tears were shed. There’s just so so much going on and I have incredible friends and opportunities. It’s confusing to feel this at the same time as dread for the uncertain future and misfortunes of family. I’m using every emotional and mental tool i have but for myself in the last 5 years. Here’s to holding on to hope. by @where.is.nox
