85 miles of deep sand kicked my ass today. If you dont ride dirtbikes let me tell you, riding that many miles of sandy whoops and ruts as fast as you can non stop is unforgiving asf and makes me question why I even sign up for these things. I’ve always heard “the people you work with make or break the job you are in” and I never fully understood that until I got to work with the best group of guys/girls imaginable. I can’t begin to explain how grateful I am to have met and worked with this crew. I have learned so much about myself and the job this year. The leadership I worked under is of the highest caliber you can get in the workforce and I am honored to have been able to be part of such a team. The camaraderie you build with a team that you do hard shit with you can’t find in many jobs, the fire service is special in that way, it brought me so close to such great people I would have never even thought of being friends with if it weren’t for the fire service. Anyways, I had SUCH a kickass fire season with the boys and I am excited to see what’s next in store for me! DELTA FOR LIFE! #hanginwiththeboys by @whereiscolesmith
