daydreamin’ about hosting creative events and collaborative photo days and engaging workshops and meeting new people and making neat things once more – the countdown is on! 🥲 after a grueling four full days of filling out my visa application (and some tears), it happened: ya girl was granted the BVA (a supplemental visa that allows me to LIVE and WORK in Aus) while my partner visa is being processed. I get to be a real person again!! I’m beyond grateful, and I feel ecstatic to get back to work in a real way with @barebonezcollective – I miss bringing people together, hosting events, sharing art, and inspiring others to explore their curiosities and artistic potential. coming up: we have some exciting developments with the collective, new event announcements, film photography, paintings, and more! digis + film by the homie @jordans.archivess from Pizza & Portraits nearly three years ago 🥺 by @whereiskait_
things I’ve learned whilst/since moving to Australia: - referring to “chips” as French fries will make a room go silent (I speak from experience). - “passenger to the curb” helps immensely when driving. - most potatoes are a chip, just depends on how you describe it: hot chips are French fries, a packet of chips are potato chips. - everything has a standard 28-day processing time. - bin chickens are my new favorite animal (look up the Australian White Ibis and its lore if you’re curious). - boxed cake mixes come with their own icing bag that you also have to mix. - footy is not rugby, nor is it football or soccer; but a fourth other sport that’s somewhat of a mix of all three, as well as basketball and volleyball (played on an oval). - the quiet, rugged country life has been calling to us. - the bugs here are i n s a n e !!!! - there were sooo many more ducks to get in a row than we’d anticipated… we’ve been in Aus just over two months now and wow, we’ve learned A LOT. this time has been a forced vacation that I didn’t anticipate or want – but in hindsight and with the end in sight, it’s turned out to be something good for me. I’m thankful for the time I’ve gotten to pause, paint things just for me, hang out with my hubby, build him a website and update my own, work on growing @barebonezcollective, and take in this whole new world I’ve stepped into. it’s been a roller coaster, but I’m looking forward to what’s next 🌱🌏 enjoy the highlight reel ♡ I will never not be giddy when I see a kangaroo 🦘 view from our bedroom window!! a drawing a day keeps the demons away Shapes hierarchy 🥇 vocab lesson!! mi amor ♡ made a mud cake for the footy match bin chooks!! like sitting down after a lifetime of standing 🚬 third time seeing our night heron pal more roos!! projects + cartwheels 🤸🏼‍♀️🤸🏼 🥊🦘 we bought a car!! li’l friends at Tomato Lake rescreening window frames 🪛🪟 by @whereiskait_

HOMEBODY a little look back at Kait Holland’s HOMEBODY show & going away party back in june. Kait brought the cozy with a mix of art, food, & familiar faces. It was one last gathering before saying goodbye. the kind of night that made the ‘room’ feel a little more like home. by @whereiskait_
forever n’ ever obsessing over these film snaps by the talented @mrhimmel, from our second round of nuptials on my family farm back in Pennsylvania 🌾 getting to exchange a second set of vows then celebrate with my grandma and loved ones who didn’t get to make it out for our elopement in Colorado; and to be able to do it in a place that shaped me, in front of the willows my mama planted just a few years back – meant absolutely everything to me. this place + these people are such a huge part of my history and helped make me the woman I am today. what an extraordinary gift it was to take this next step in creating my future in that very place, alongside my husband @h0ll0wb0nes, surrounded by so much love. & what a gift these photos are – I am endlessly thankful @mrhimmel 🎞️🫶🏼 by @whereiskait_
bin chickens!!!! 🗑️🐣 during one of my first days in Aus, @h0ll0wb0nes and I were walking to grab groceries and saw this cutie little guy with a black head + beak and a white feathered body bopping around a nearby park. when I asked what it was, Blake laughed and started explaining the lore of the Australian White Ibis – otherwise known as a “bin chook.” these birds are scavengers, the raccoon of Australia (as raccoons do not exist naturally here); and they are known for sourcing food from trash bins, hence the name. I’ve been absolutely enamored and obsessed ever since. the other day we checked out another local park that also features a nature reserve and GUESS WHAT – there were islands in the center of the lake with literally hundreds of bin chickens, some with nests full of fresh bby bin chooks! I was giddy, losing my mind with glee. still am. by @whereiskait_
ONE YEAR MARRIED❣️ Blake Holland, eloping with you in the Rockies a year ago was the best decision I’ve ever made. never have I ever laughed with someone so much, felt so understood, or felt more inspired and supported by another human. you’re my rock, my home, my light, my love. you’re a gift to this world and to everyone who gets to know you, and I feel deeply grateful to walk by your side in this life. thank you for making me your wife, and continuing to rock my world forever. ❤️‍🔥⚔️ (I have zero regrets over closing out BOTH sets of my vows to you with a Bret Michaels quote from Rock of Love – and I’ll likely do it again, if given the chance.) 😘 8.28.25 ♡ film slides 1, 3, 4 – @allyazar.jpg film slide 5 – @mollydelle film slides 19, 20 – @mrhimmel (more film from our PA wedding and cross-country trip coming soooon!) by @whereiskait_
