Kaminarimon, or the "Thunder Gate", is the entrance gate to Asakusa's famous Sensoji Temple, and a symbol of Asakusa. Its official, full name is Fujin Raijinmon, meaning “The Gate of the Gods of Wind and Thunder”. You simply cannot miss it’s huge red chochin lantern!

Legend says that around the year 628 CE, two brothers fishing in the Sumida River caught a statue of the Bodhisattva Kannon (God of Mercy) in their net. When the village headman heard about it, he took vows as a Buddhist priest and remade his home into a temple in order to enshrine the statue. This is said to be the beginning of Sensoji Temple. The statue is enshrined in the temple to this very day.

Ciao Ciao Italy!! This vacation was truly a magical experience. So many sights, sounds, tastes and colors added to the Amalfi experience that I lost count! I took this picture on my Birthday and for me it symbolizes all the changes that have happened and will happen. Letting go of old baggage, evolving and just continuously seeing more of the world. I’m not afraid of 29 anymore but 29 should be afraid of me 😏

My brother put together this video of the boys growing up and it really hit me how fast time is moving. Between work keeping me away so much and missing my husband, it feels like every time I come home they’ve doubled in size again. I love what I do, but some days I really wish I didn’t have to be away for so long and miss these chapters while they're still so small.

Huge credit to @potus_light , too—while I’m away, he’s been doing such an amazing job training them to be so well-mannered. I’m so lucky to come home to such a good crew.
