What a funny and warm return to some rom com? I feel like the last couple of years I have been on a fantasy and thriller kick but shoutout to @happilyhailsreads who posted the books she liked (we are definitely aligned on the fantasy route) who had this on romcom list. So excited I gave it a try and will definitely be working some more romcom into my rotation!

Please share if you have any more recs for me! Also just watched the movie too and omg so so cute but sooo different than the book, the lack of backstory in the movie had me pausing to explain everything to my husband because he NEEDED to know the FMC’s whole backstory so he could appreciate the moments even more. by @wherestorieshide

The biggest shoutout to @thirstycaterpillar for the recommendation of Quicksilver. It’s been on my list FOREVER and it was the extra push I needed ✨ by @wherestorieshide

I got to visit my first bookstore focused on romance books but trust me it had all the things we love, romantsy, thrillers, you name it. It was so cute and I can’t wait to go back when I’m back in town!

Of course I had to get something and got my next thriller thanks to the recommendation by @kendallferrari! Stay tuned for a read of the “the perfect marriage” by @jenevaroseauthor! So excited to read this with my best friend.

Read. 100 percent read.

I didn’t expect to love The Housemaid this much, but wow, if you’re craving a fast-paced, twisty mystery/thriller, this one delivers. It started a little slow for me, and I had a hard time pushing through some of the ways the main character was treated… but once I hit the middle? I was gone. Absolutely hooked, could not put it down, stayed-up-way-too-late kind of hooked.
And that twist? I had no idea it was coming.

I’m giving it 4.5⭐️/5 only because I’m a sucker for books that have a lot of world building, and this one jumps straight into the action. But honestly… it works.

📚 Have you read it? What did you think? Would you recommend it?

👇 Tell me everything in the comments.
And if you want to grab your own copy, comment “housemaid” and I’ll send a link!

Nothing says pre-party prep like a little light reading 👻📚 Just two besties, a throne war and a twisted house mystery before the Halloween chaos begins. The new pregame 🥳

Last bookstore haul of October 🎃🖤 Continuing my Blood and Ash / Flesh and Fire obsession (thank you Jennifer L. Armentrout), and finally checking out The Housemaid, I’ve heard so much about it, time to see for myself!
