We started the day driving into Maine, stopping first in York at the Nubble Lighthouse. We had lunch at Fox’s Lobster House, which overlooks the view of the lighthouse.

We then drove up the coast, driving as close to the water as possible, passing through Kennebunkport until we got to Cape Elizabeth and the Portland Head Light — we’ve visited here before and couldn’t wait to return!

Then we were on to Bar Harbor and Acadia! We ended up seeing the Northern Lights as we passed over the bridge onto Mt Desert Island. We checked into the West Street Hotel (dog friendly!) and grabbed food to go from Testa’s Bar and Grill.

As this was such a spontaneous road trip, it was too last minute to do sunrise at Cadillac Mountain, so we drove to Otter Cliff Overlook, grabbed breakfast at Mount Dessert Bakery and wandered around Bar Harbor before heading to the Bass Harbor Head Light.

Then it was on to Wiscasset for some Red’s Eats lobster rolls. It was well worth the wait 🦞🤤

This was very fast-paced and hastily planned, but we kind of thrive off that on our travels sometimes 🤪 We know for a fact that we will back to Maine and all of these places in the future to spend more time exploring each one more thoroughly. This was just a taste 🫶🏼
