Been looking for this classic Billy Connolly clip for years now!

Thank God for dodgy sites that allow you to download private Facebook links...erm, or so I have been told anyway...

Paul McCartney's iconic appearance on the BBC radio show, "Desert Island Discs", is one of the most illuminating and heartbreaking moments in his entire career.

Watching him listen to John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy" is one of the few times he (willingly or not) dropped his eternally positive public persona.

Clearly the loss of John, only less than two years ago at this point, was still too raw for Paul, resulting in the media-savvy mask slipping off. Even if for a second.

I would argue this is one of the few times Paul truly let us peek behind the curtain, and for that reason, it is one of the most invaluable pieces of McCartney media.

Just a little throwback to when my flatmates foiled my bedroom once I'd left home for the weekend.

I can't believe this was twelve years ago!!!

Truly the best of times.

Nothing worse than when you get a haircut and realise halfway to a job interview that you look like David Brent…

It would be a lie to say I’m not a bit of an attention whore…but I never knew it would lead to this!

Many thanks for @blottobeatles for the shout out!

It matters not how many days the postman fell behind…I now finally have the best 32nd birthday present I could ever ask for.

You won’t find me justifying myself either. This is objectively cool and if you don’t think so…well, you’re gonna need a bigger boat…

Of course there is one person I would love to share this particular set with, as I know he would have loved it.

Updates to follow…

Just me and the crew at the 2nd Beatles Academic Symposium.

Just want to take a moment to shout out @allisonbumsted and @darlinggurl for making me feel instantly welcome and at home AND for attending my presentation.

Thanks also go to my technician Phil, Kathryn the organiser, @kennethwomack for putting up with my buffoonery, the German guy who jammed with me at the dinner, and the incredible kitchen crew at Liverpool Hope.

My only regret? Choosing to wear new leather shoes before walking around Liverpool city centre. My heels will never be the same.

Hope to see everyone again there next year!!! by @whiles1
