It’s the end of an era for Ballydehob.

Restaurant Chestnut has been a masterclass in understated excellence.

Rob Krawczyk and Elaine Fleming officially confirmed on May 12, 2026, that this current dinner season—their ninth—will be the restaurant’s last.

I’ll always remember dining here while camping in West Cork with @frankieb_art here and then going back to our tent in the lashing rain 😊

Good luck to them and can’t wait to see what’s next.

Review of Redbreast Moscatel Wine Cask Edition Irish Whiskey.

@redbreastirishwhiskey have added another layer to their Iberian Series by finishing this single pot still whiskey in Moscatel wine casks from Málaga.

This brings a brighter, more citrus-led twist to the classic Redbreast DNA of bourbon and sherry cask maturation.

This is where Laphroaig gets its flavour.

On Islay, peat is cut from the bogs, dried and burned in the kiln and it’s that thick smoke (not the heat) that gives you those big medicinal, smoky, almost seaweed notes.

Touring Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay home of Classic Laddie (unpeated), Port Charlotte (peated), and Octomore (super heavily peated).

Founded in 1881, revived in 2001, now one of the most innovative names in Scotch whisky focused on Scottish barley, terroir, and transparency.

Even got to drink whisky straight from the cask in the warehouse ☀️

The Bruichladdich Classic Laddie is an unpeated Islay single malt Scotch whisky… which already makes it different from almost everything else on the island.
