This isn’t just about replacing a flag. It’s about refusing to ride past something that matters. When we come across a flag that’s given all it’s had.. we don’t keep going. We stop. We replace it. We believe Old Glory deserves better. Help the mission continue forward by sponsoring the respectful retirement and replacement of Old Glory. Your sponsorship helps purchase the next American flag we install somewhere across this country. You’re helping preserve a symbol that deserves respect. ⚡️DGR⚡️ - Jay #WhiskeyDicksMoto #DoGoodRecklessly #NeverRidePast #FTW #HarleyDavidson by @whiskeydicksmotoco
And then the road gives you something back that life took away… The crew at @second_strike_usa are doing some badass things, getting veterans on two wheels and helping them find their tribe along the way. We’re damn proud to kick in a brand-new @simpson_motorcycle_helmets helmet to support what they’re building. Some things are bigger than the badge on the tank… Two wheels are two wheels. Respect is respect. And a worn-out American flag deserves better. Doesn’t matter whose parking lot it’s flying over. 🇺🇸 Thank you @cherrycitybaggerbars for sponsoring this retirement and replacement!! Harley dude doing charity work at an Indian dealership? What the hell is this world coming to? We can’t even tag them..😂 Do Good Recklessly. #WhiskeyDicksMoto #DoGoodRecklessly #RideWithPurpose #IndianMotorcycle #HarleyDavidson by @whiskeydicksmotoco

This has never been about us. It’s about what that flag represents. 25 years ago, on one of the darkest days in our history, we watched firefighters run toward buildings everyone else was running from. First responders, strangers and everyday Americans stepped forward to help people they’d never met. We saw the absolute worst. And we saw the very best of each other. That’s the America we choose to remember. That’s what this flag means to us. Never forget. 🇺🇸 by @whiskeydicksmotoco
79 FLAGS. Our good friend @shooksoda Austin Hill, a Marine Corps Veteran, Writer, Philosopher, smarty-pants, and all-around solid human being, wrote Beyond the Asphalt: The Rider’s Guide to the Road Within. Then, without saying a word to us, decided the proceeds from his book were going toward sponsoring American flags. He told us after the fact… That’s Austin. When we started Sponsor a Flag, we thought maybe a dozen people would get behind it. We’re at 79. We’ve been replacing flags out of pocket since retiring from the military. Sponsored or not, that was never going to stop. But then you guys showed up. During Expedition 001, we started writing sponsors’ names on the flags we carried. And suddenly they weren’t just our flags anymore. We were carrying yours. Our service didn’t end when the uniform came off. This isn’t left. This isn’t right. This is America. We’ll bleed on the stripes of Old Glory to keep her red. Austin thank you. Not only for being so selfless but also for being our friend.. And to every person who sponsored a flag, sent a message, shared the mission or simply told us to keep going: Thank you for carrying some of the weight. Be the change you hope for.. Love you, Jay ⚡️Never Ride Past⚡️ by @whiskeydicksmotoco
EXPEDITION 001: MORE SIDE QUESTS At this point, we have no clue what day we’re on anymore. 😂 The plan had pretty much gone out the window, but one thing that wasn’t negotiable was catching up with our people. We made our way to Rapid City Harley-Davidson to find @mrwerks @sheltoneinerwold and the @klockwerks Krew. OUR people. We figured since we were already there… Might as well go to Sturgis… Missed the rally…By like a week. 🤣 Turns out having Sturgis and the Black Hills damn near to yourself isn’t a bad consolation prize. We weren’t even planning on going through the Badlands. We’ve been plenty of times before. But something told us to go. So we went. And wouldn’t you know it… There was a flag waiting for us. At this point, we weren’t even surprised anymore. The road has taken us exactly where we’re meant to be so far… The itinerary was gone. The side quests had taken over. And somehow every time we listened to that little voice telling us to turn, go, stop or take the long way… There was a reason. Dinner was a milkshake, watching the sun go down, because road calories don’t count. Pretty sure we’ve already established that. Go see your people. Take the long way. Listen when something tells you to turn. The road will figure out the rest. Love ya, Jay ⚡️Never Ride Past⚡️ by @whiskeydicksmotoco
EXPEDITION 001: THE SIDE QUEST Dyersville, IA → Minneapolis, MN → Mitchell, SD The plan was to leave Iowa and head straight to Mitchell to see the Klock Werks crew. Then we saw the Welcome to Minnesota sign. And immediately thought… If we don’t turn and go see him, we’re going to regret it. “Him” being a brother in arms we served with in Iraq and hadn’t seen in years. He was about 215 miles in the wrong direction, so we made it the ONLY direction. Sent him a picture of the Minnesota sign, and pointed the bike toward Minneapolis. Best decision we could’ve made. Funny enough, on the way to his house we spotted him sitting at a stoplight on his motorcycle. Pulled over, waited for him and got to ride the rest of the way together. Some things just pick up right where they left off. We grabbed lunch and a couple drinks at the oldest bar in Minnesota, caught up, reminisced and probably told some of the same stories we’ve been telling for years. Worth every single extra mile. Eventually we said our see-ya-laters and pointed the bike toward Mitchell. Arrived at Klock Werks after they closed. Didn’t stop us from climbing our happy asses into the giant red chair and taking pictures by ourselves. 😂 Hit the Corn Palace because… well, when the else are we going to see the Corn Palace? Another state. Two flags retired. A whole bunch of extra miles. Absolutely destroyed the original plan for the day. Wouldn’t change a damn thing. This trip just kept reminding us: Take the wrong turn. Make the extra miles. Go see your people. Your destination will still be there. Love ya, Jay ⚡️Never Ride Past⚡️ by @whiskeydicksmotoco
EXPEDITION 001: MILWAUKEE → FIELD OF DREAMS “Happy cows come from California, but happy bikes come home to Milwaukee.” — @candace_gawrysiak , Harley-Davidson Museum Couldn’t have said it better ourselves. After finding enough caffeine to leave Chicago, we pointed the bike north and brought her home. And man, did they make us feel welcome. We pulled right up to the entrance of the Harley-Davidson Museum and were greeted by Candace, who somehow became the best damn tour guide we could’ve asked for… despite that not actually being her job. 😂 She personally walked us through the museum and worked some magic to get us into the archives. That’s where we met Chris, the Motorcycle Archivist at the Museum. Standing around that much Harley-Davidson history was incredible. But somehow we found ourselves less interested in asking about the motorcycles and more interested in asking Candace and Chris: “How did you end up here?” Their stories were just as interesting as everything surrounding us. Maybe that’s what Expedition 001 was becoming. There are a whole lot of people out there with stories we’d never hear if we stayed in one place. We left Milwaukee unbelievably grateful, pointed the bike toward Iowa… And rode directly into two and a half hours of pouring rain. Sometimes the rain gives you a little too much time to think. Then, as we got closer to the Field of Dreams, it just… stopped. The clouds broke. Blue sky started showing through. The sun was dropping over the cornfield. We walked onto that field and absolutely lost it. Sat on the bleachers where Kevin Costner sat and just looked around for a while. Then we noticed the flag. No wind. Just hanging there. Until a small breeze came through and opened it up enough for us to see that it was torn. Of course it was. At the Field of Dreams… Some days on this trip were loud. This one wasn’t. Pretty grateful for all of it. And all of you. Btw, the cheese curds were rad.. Love ya, Jay ⚡️Never Ride Past⚡️ by @whiskeydicksmotoco
EXPEDITION 001: CHICAGO Well… we made it. Route 66 complete. We even got the opportunity to retire a flag at a pretty historic marker along the way before pointing the bike toward downtown Chicago. Rode the waterfront. Took in the skyline. Ate an Italian beef. Deep dish. Gelato. Like five hot dogs. All the things. Expedition 001 calories don’t count. 😂 Then it was time for Wrigley. We pulled the bike onto the sidewalk, up onto the bricks behind Wrigley Field and parked right next to Harry Caray. Operations came out looking at us… Told them we’d just ridden 2,800 miles to get there. Turns out they were pretty fucking stoked about it. So naturally… “BASE!” We even managed to spot a giraffe in its natural habitat. 🦒 Then we walked into an absolute madhouse. 40,000+ people. Sold out Wrigley. Catalina Club. Singing. Drinking. One hell of a back-and-forth baseball game. Bottom of the 10th. Tie game. Pete Crow-Armstrong walks it off with a home run. CUBS WIN. Somewhere between Route 66, way too much food, a motorcycle parked on the bricks at Wrigley and 40,000 people losing their minds… We forgot about everything else for a while. No worrying about where we needed to be next. We were just there. Maybe that’s something we haven’t been doing enough of. We spend a whole lot of time making a living and forget to actually live. Chicago was a pretty damn good reminder. Love ya, Jay ⚡️Never Ride Past⚡️ by @whiskeydicksmotoco
EXPEDITION 001: DAYS 5–8/15 Sometimes you gotta stop moving. It took us damn near 2,500 miles, but our first stop in Illinois was the most important one… Hug Grandma. From there, have a scotch with Mom. We ripped through our old hometown, stopped by the historic Walters Brothers Harley-Davidson in Peoria, retired two more flags, spent some much needed time with family and did our absolute best to win enough money at the casino to buy Grandma a sidecar. We did not win Grandma a sidecar. 😂 After days of heat, rain, long miles, replacing flags and meeting people everywhere we went, Days 5–8 weren’t really about the road. We needed to stop. Eat some food. Tell some stories. Hug our people. Have a drink. Lose some money. Sleep. Just be home for a minute. Because as much as Expedition 001 was about seeing where the road would take us, sometimes the road takes you exactly where you need to be. For us, that was family. Two more flags retired. A few days with the people we love. And a much needed reset before pointing the bike back toward the road. Still owe Grandma that sidecar though… Love ya, Jay ⚡️Never Ride Past⚡️ by @whiskeydicksmotoco
