Cradle Mountain in Tasmania, Australia - my first taste of living in a lodge and I was surprised to find a vacation I enjoyed besides being at the beach!

My first real sight of snow, comfy fireplaces, outdoor jacuzzi, reading Gone Girl, behind drenched on a hike, amazing food and great hospitality, saying hi to the wombats, being out in nature… the entire 3D2N stay was pretty unforgettable. So many trails, an incredible number of steps, bundled up in Uniqlo and Decathlon, we were prepared and it was epic.

We really pushed ourselves hard tho and that made the recovery and creature comforts all the sweeter.

Which was why one of the best decisions was staying at Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge. It’s one of the closest accoms to Cradle Mountain, great access to the trails (quite a few of them were around the property), the spa with its sauna, cold plunge and jacuzzi (as quickly as it snowed, the sky cleared up) and decent fare sustained us through the trip. The Accor Explorer was a nice cheat code, a bit of a shame that I got it after booking the hotel but it did give us 30% off food which was 🥳
