We added a very handsome buck to our herd this week!

His name is Bucky 💙

He is such a sweet boy and we can't wait to breed him with Dottie and Maizie. They are going to make gorgeous babies!

🐐 We got him from Goats Gone Wild farm on FB.
They are the nicest couple and David was so helpful in getting Bucky loaded into the back of our suburban. That was a feat! 💪🏼
We would definitely get more goats from them in the future.

These girls have figured out the secret to farm life: do whatever you want, whenever you want… because you’re cute enough to get away with it. 😂🐐🌸

Today we said goodbye to one of our boys. 🤍

Sometimes on a farm, we face the hardest part of loving animals—the goodbye. We lost our buck today to a medical issue (Urinary Calculi) and by the time we knew how serious it was, it was simply too far gone to treat.

We wish we could have done more. We wish we could have changed the outcome. But we loved him, cared for him, and did everything we could with the time we had.

Farm life is beautiful, but it can also be heartbreakingly hard. Today, our hearts are a little heavier, and the farm feels a little quieter.

Rest easy, Woodrow (Woody). 🐐🤍 by @whitehousefarmstead

💜🦋 After Emilie passed away, a dear friend and teacher, @osteenamy, spoke to the high school and was able to get it approved to have a fig tree planted in memory of Emilie. It meant and still means so much to us and we stop by there from time to time to see how the tree is doing and remember our sweet girl. It's in direct sun and doesn't get watered regularly but it's still hanging on. It had some new leaves and even had a fig on it. Emilie had so many obstacles to overcome but she didn't let that get her down. She almost always had a reason to smile, laugh and "dance" (spinning happy circles on the ground). I miss you so much Emilie and wish you were still here but I know you are in a better place, fully healed and dancing (on your feet now) with Jesus and those that have gone before us. 💃
