This weekend was another step toward making bicycling more accessible for children in our community.

Scenic City Trykes and WOBC volunteers came together Saturday morning to assemble custom-designed adaptive tricycles.

Scenic City Trykes provides adaptive tricycles designed around each rider’s needs, helping create more opportunities for physical activity, independence, and inclusion. The trikes are provided at no cost to families.

Thank you to Scenic City Trykes for the work you do and for spending Saturday with us at the shop! by @whiteoakbicycle

800+ Bicycles and Counting

Through the first three quarters of 2026, WOBC has put 806 bicycles back into the community, supporting 28 nonprofit organizations, 14 schools, and 8 government agencies across the Chattanooga region.

Each bike represents an opportunity for its next rider to learn to ride and be active or have reliable transportation to get work and access the resources they need.

Our goal is to distribute at least 1,200 bicycles in 2026. Help us finish strong by donating a bicycle or supporting the work that makes each one possible.

Today, kids rode on a pop-up bicycle rodeo course. In a few weeks, they’ll have a permanent place to keep riding.
⠀
WOBC spent the day at CHATT Town Cool Down in Coolidge Park, setting up a bicycle rodeo where kids could ride, build confidence, and have fun on two wheels.
⠀
And today’s course was a preview of something much bigger.
⠀
In just a few weeks, WOBC will begin work with Outdoor Chattanooga to create a permanent bicycle skills area in Coolidge Park, giving kids a dedicated place to learn, practice, and ride long after today’s event is over.
⠀
It’s another step toward making bicycling more accessible and creating more places for kids to get outside and be active.
⠀
We’re grateful for partners like Outdoor Chattanooga who help turn ideas like this into lasting community resources. by @whiteoakbicycle

Bikes ready when transportation becomes a barrier.

WOBC’s Transportation Lockers place ready-to-ride bicycles directly at local schools, giving school staff another resource when they identify a student facing a transportation barrier.

The idea began last school year as a student-led Future Ready Institute project at Red Bank High School. What started with students identifying a need and developing a solution has now grown into a WOBC initiative supporting three high schools and one middle school to start off the school year.

It’s a simple idea: put bicycles where they’re needed before they’re needed.

Access changes everything. by @whiteoakbicycle

WOBC is honored to be recognized as the CHATT Foundation’s 2026 Outstanding Agency of the Year.

White Oak Bicycle Cooperative is proud to partner with the CHATT Foundation to provide bicycles for transportation and support its biweekly bicycle repair program.

WOBC’s transportation initiative began in November 2020 through a partnership with the Chattanooga Community Kitchen and Kickstand Bicycles of St. Elmo. What started as biweekly bicycle repair services has grown into a program that, over the past two years, has provided more than 200 bicycles to individuals in need of reliable transportation. We are grateful for the partnership and the opportunity to work alongside the CHATT Foundation to address transportation needs in our community.

Got bikes? We always are in need of donated bicycles to support our youth programs and transportation initiatives.

Come see us at the Chattanooga Lookouts on Wednesday to learn more about our work, or bring a bike to donate and check out our pop-up bicycle rodeo course at Chattanooga Football Club’s Ride Your Bike Night next Saturday.

Thank you, @chattfoundation, for this incredible recognition. We also appreciate the support of @chattanoogalookouts and @chattanoogafc for helping us connect more people with the joy of riding a bike! by @whiteoakbicycle

🚲 We gave away 20+ bikes and helmets... but that's not what made this day unforgettable. 🚲💙

Sometimes the biggest victories don't begin with a finish line—they begin with a first pedal. 🚲

This weekend, children and families came together for the first NeuroWheels Bike Safety Rodeo, where riders of all ages and abilities built confidence, learned essential bicycle safety skills, and discovered that encouragement can change everything.

For many participants, this wasn't just about riding a bike. It was about trying something new, overcoming fears, celebrating progress, and discovering that every small victory deserves to be celebrated.

A heartfelt thank you to every family who trusted us, every volunteer who walked beside a rider, and every community partner whose generosity made this day possible.

Special thanks to our incredible partners and sponsors: 💙 Chattanooga Autism Center (Community Partner) 🌸 Wellpoint (Gold Sponsor) 🚧 United Rentals (Gold Sponsor) ⭐ Five Star Group (Silver Sponsor) 🚲 White Oak Bicycle Co-op 🌉 Bridge2Autism 🧩 GoNeuroPlay 🏞️ South Chattanooga Community Center / City of Chattanooga Parks & Outdoors.

Together, we're building a safer, more inclusive community—one rider at a time.

Missed this year's event or want to help us reach even more families next time?

Every registration, volunteer, donation, and community partnership helps create more opportunities for children to learn, grow, and ride with confidence.

Thank you for believing in this mission. We can't wait to ride with you again next year! 🚲💙
