Beautiful craftsmanship by Tom Connelly of Tom Connelly’s Woodworking in Littleton, MA. The original railings for this unique 1860’s stair were quite a bit lower than the current code of 36.” Concerned for the safety of their grandkids, the clients wanted to raise the railing to code height without impacting the historic beauty of the railing. Tom was able to find a close matching salvaged newel post that he skillfully incorporated into the existing newel post to raise it. Now the clients have a safer railing that looks like was always that way. I always feel so honored to work with such talented and knowledgeable craftsmen! by @whiteoaksstudio
