POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Me & My Fives ✨

If there’s one thing I’m gonna do, it’s be late to a trend. And considering I just got here, this feels like pretty perfect timing. Ha!

Some of these are forever favorites, some are things I just really, really like, and all of them tell you a little something about me.

Anyone else have a soft spot for these?

A rundown of what held my attention in August—part 1 ✨

A month of multiple movie visits (because my a-list membership is the best money I spend every month), new release books that met and/or exceeded expectations, and a podcast in YouTube format that I couldn’t help but rewatch!

What had your attention in August??

What grabbed my attention in September? Glad you asked… here’s a rundown 😊

A month of watching Aaron Pierre (that’s mufasa), an incredible reboot, a surprising number of 4 star reads, and several songs worthy of being on repeat for literal hours at a time. by @whitneyandtheplot

Happy Sense and Sensibility release day ✨

I had the opportunity to attend an advanced screening of this movie, and y’all, I absolutely adored it. ADORED IT! I haven’t read the book, but I was so excited to find out if it would live up to the high expectations that come with bringing a Jane Austen story to the screen. And it absolutely did! This is only the second movie to ever make me cry in a theater, joining Pride and Prejudice, which is in my top 10 fav movies of all time.

I also think this movie has so much to offer beyond the romance. The scenery feels just as much a part of the story as some of the main characters, and the score is perfectly in tune with each moment that it draws you right into the sisters’ experiences. You feel like you’re right there alongside them as they navigate love, heartbreak, and sisterhood. Everything comes together to make the storytelling feel incredibly rich and immersive. It’s a stunning movie, full stop. You don’t have to be a book reader or Jane Austen afficianado to appreciate a story told this well, and I truly couldn’t recommend this movie more.

@sensesensibilityfilm is in theaters TODAY, October 16th and I implore you to experience it for yourself so you can swoon, sigh, probably cry, and love it as much as I did ❤️ The biggest of thanks to @focusfeatures @workingtitlefilms for hosting such a fun screening and making for such a wonderful night!!! by @whitneyandtheplot

Little Free Library drop-off time ✨

I really love being able to pop into the library in my office and see what’s new. Today, I get to be the one adding new finds! These five are either books that have been sitting unread on my shelves for far too long and deserve to be enjoyed by someone else or lovely reads I’m passing along to make room for more. Either way, I have a feeling they won’t be in our LFL for long 😊 by @whitneyandtheplot

Do you ever leave a bookstore with more trinkets than books?? Well, that was me after visiting @bookishatlanta for the first time.

There was something so exciting and warm about this space. You can tell a lot of thought went into creating such a dope environment, and clearly, I wasn’t ready to leave it all behind after one purchase. So much so that I ended up doubling back!

Not pictured: my bag full of earrings, stickers, posters, and fridge magnets 😊

If you’re in or around Atlanta, I highly recommend stopping by to experience the goodness that is Bookish 🖤 by @whitneyandtheplot

Recently added a new level to my book addiction — graphic novels ✨

I’ve been eyeing graphic novels for a while, but honestly, I had no idea where to start. I came across these at a used bookstore and realized this could be a fun way to try a new reading medium and fuel my love for all things Marvel in between my other fiction books. And can we get into the fact that I now get to read Black Panther written by THE Ta-Nehisi Coates himself?! I can’t wait to dive in!

Have y’all read any graphic novels? 👀 by @whitneyandtheplot

October is in full swing, which means it’s finally time for all things Halloween 🎃

I don’t need an excuse to start a new show or put on a movie, but I love a themed watchlist to help narrow down my choices! These don’t all take place during Halloween, but they all give off that spooky season feeling in one way or another. Some are tame, some are a little more of a thrill, but all made the cut for October.

Any of these catch your eye? by @whitneyandtheplot

Wrapping up Georgia Reads Week 2026 by sharing a few books that challenged my thinking, expanded my perspective, and left me with knowledge I’ll carry with me always. 📚

These are the kind of books that make you want to pass along what you’ve learned and invite someone else into the experience.

So consider yourself invited to add these to your TBR, and if any catch your eye, I’d love to talk about them! And if there’s a book you keep recommending because of what it taught you, I’m always looking for the next book that stays with me. 🖤 by @whitneyandtheplot

Yesterday’s side quest — got to see an early screening of Verity ✨

I’m not a CoHo reader, but I’ve always been a thriller girl, so naturally I was curious about this one. I can’t lie, the trailer reallyyyy sold it for me. So I went in having never read the book, which probably made my experience a little different from a lot of people seeing it.

I’ll keep my thoughts spoiler-free, but let’s just say… I definitely had some moments where my thriller-reader brain was like, “hmm, that’s an interesting choice 🤔” From the chats I had after the screening, though, I think fans of the book may like it.

Also, Anne Hathaway is good in everything. Also ALSO, Josh Hartnett is back and I’m not mad at it.

Verity is out in theaters on October 2nd. Thanks @amazonmgmstudios for having me. by @whitneyandtheplot

Today is Georgia Reads Day, which kicks off Georgia Reads Week. 📚

This photo was taken right when I started really getting into reading again for fun. Up until that point, I’d been chasing the high I remembered from reading Nate the Great and Arthur books as a kid! I didn’t know what story, or stories, would end up bringing back those same feelings, but I knew if I kept reading, I’d eventually find it again.

Fast forward, and reading has completely changed my life. I’ve seen the world through eyes that aren’t mine, learned to think critically and problem-solve, and been challenged to ask why, how, and what if. Here’s to hoping more people find the book, story, or character that makes them open their minds and fall in love with storytelling. 🖤

And because actions matter in helping close the literacy gap and get more books into more hands, I’m sharing a few organizations below that are doing good work. ✨

I just finished another book in one day and it got me curious about how many times I’ve actually done that this year. Turns out… quite a few. 😊

These aren’t all of my one-day reads, just some recent ones that stuck out to me. Have you read any of these, or are you also occasionally guilty of accidentally finishing a whole book in one day?
