Best news of the year!!! You heard it here first (or second) Congratulations @vikaandlinda on two @aria_official awards nominations. See you in Sydney. #australianmusic #aria2026 #songwritingwin by @whitsongfest
Glowing after hearing "My Wandjina Boy" live at @bigsound This song was written by @zipporraahh myself and @karenthegpsgirl at the @whitsongfest 2025 and now features on Zipporah's "Nuangu Urui: Extened Cut" EP. 💛🌻💛🌻 by @whitsongfest
Hearing @vikaandlinda talking about how we wrote "Thats How I Pray" on tour is both a surreal and proud moment for me. This song was written by Vika Bull, @karenthegpsgirl @marksholtez and @fdvmusic at the 2023 @whitsongfest . And was one of 3 songs on the album "Where Do You Come From?" that came from the festival. #australianmusic #arias #songwriting by @whitsongfest
We are basking in the glow of writing 8 brand new songs at the Whitsundays Songwriter Festival Residency last week. We are so grateful for all the creative ideas that @anuchristine @taniadoko @taylormossmusic @marksholtez @fdvmusic @karenthegpsgirl brought to the festival this year. Given the amazing successes of the past residency songs - including 3 songs making the new @vikaandlinda album - we are certain you will get a chance to hear the fine work from this year. Watch this space!! Huge thanks to @pinnaclesairliebeach for hosting us as our Residency venue partner. And @yeschef_australia for nourishing us. @heartofreefshuttles for being our official transport partner and @cruisewhitsundays for the classiest transfers. Thanks to @regionalartsaustralia and @whitsundayrc for supporting our project this year. And our biggest love to the @whitsundays_arts_festival for their ongoing support. by @whitsongfest
The 2026 Concert and Conversation was a huge heart filled singalong when our guests @anuchristine @taniadoko @taylormossmusic sang their hit songs for us. But what makes this event even more special, is the love our audience gave when we played 4 songs we had written the previous day. After 5 years of presenting this festival, our audience truly gets what we’re trying to do and they are helping us to do that - to appreciate songs and songwriters. Thank you everyone. 💕 Thanks to our resident songwriters: @fdvmusic @karenthegpsgirl @marksholtez With thanks to @whitsunday_sailing_club @pinnaclesairliebeach @airliebeachmusiccentre @heartofreefshuttles @cruisewhitsundays Our event was generously supported by @whitsundays_arts_festival @whitsundayrc @regionalartsaustralia #songwriting #whitsundays by @whitsongfest
We are on a high from a momentous @whitsongfest Songwriting Summit on Sat 6 June. Participants travelled from as south as Melbourne to Townsville all coming together in Airlie Beach at the @whitsunday_sailing_club for a day of songwriting workshops, masterclasses and 1-1 mentoring from our esteemed faculty @anuchristine @taniadoko @taylormossmusic @fdvmusic @marksholtez and @karenthegpsgirl Our Stream A participants wrote their very first song ever with the expert leadership of Karen Jacobsen and mentor Christine Anu (you can hear a snippet of their song here). Our Stream B participants workshopped songs they had started but needed help with - with lessons from Francesca de Valence and 1-1 mentorship from Taylor Moss. Our Stream C participants masterclassed their songs with Mark Sholtez and mentor Tania Doko from @bachelor.girl.official Huge thanks to Summit partner @iheartsongwritingclub for designing anddelivering a world class educational event in regional Qld. Thanks to @airliebeachmusiccentre for making us sound so good. And our immense gratitude to @whitsundayrc and @regionalartsaustralia for their funding support for this event. Finally, our heartfelt thanks to @whitsundays_arts_festival for supporting 5 years of our festival. #whitsundays #songwriting #songwriters ☀️☀️ by @whitsongfest
