dina & i did not meet in the dj world - we met 7 years ago (almost to the month!) as baristas working at a little coffee shop on the border of seattle and shoreline. when we met we instantly clicked ✨ i was in the early stages of learning how to dj, had been playing off my laptop for maybe 6 months, + had just gotten my first baby controller. a while later, dina mentioned she wanted to learn too.

we learned together + started our dj careers around the same time but most importantly have always had a real connection and friendship <3 i have loved having a friend + sister in the dj world, and i am forever grateful to diva espresso for connecting us! dina has really been there through every era of my 20s - both personally and as a DJ - and i am so grateful for our friendship 🥲

when she asked me to spin at @openform__space for in rotation, i did not even hesitate to say yes! it felt like a chance to not just play another party but to really listen to some of our favorite r&b songs. i loveee classic r&b, but i was a teenager in the mid 2010s. frank ocean, bryson tiller, the weeknd, sza, partynextdoor, drake, anderson .paak, jhene aiko. those were my first r&b loves and i’m so excited to play a party that highlights those sounds plus some newer fresh ones too.

come to in rotation this sat for an night built on intentional curation, friendship, and love for this music.
