Get meaningful nutrition from real food.
Make your calories count.
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
We spent years being told to fear fat. But fat itself isn’t the problem — the source matters.

Foods like nuts, seeds, avocado, olive oil and oily fish don’t just provide energy. They also bring things like fibre, protein, vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids, while dietary fat helps with functions such as absorbing vitamins A, D, E and K.

So instead of asking only:

“How many calories does this contain?”

Try asking:

“What am I getting for those calories?”

Food should do more than fit a number. It should nourish you, satisfy you and contribute something useful.

Make your calories count.

The calorie myth.

Lower calorie doesn’t automatically mean more nutritious.

Calories tell us how much energy food provides. They don’t tell us everything about its fibre, protein, vitamins or minerals.

Next time you compare two foods, look beyond the calorie number. Ask: what else does this give me?

Make your calories count.

What do you check first on a food label?

Magnesium seems to be everywhere right now - supplements, sleep products, wellness drinks. But it’s also naturally present in plenty of everyday foods.

Magnesium contributes to normal energy metabolism, muscle function, nervous system function, and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing simple, practical ways to think more about what our food actually gives us.

Do you currently take magnesium?
