Yesterday, one of my younger cousins sent me a bunch of landscape photos she took on her iPhone and it absolutely made me beam.

I was her age when I started my photography journey with my mom’s iPhone and had no idea what was in store.

10 years before, her mom helped me learn some camera basics as she happens to be a photographer too;)

She then asked if I could send her some of my favorite landscape photos that I’ve ever taken and this one came to mind so I’m resharing it all with you ❤️

I appreciate all of the compliments on my work but the highest compliment is knowing that my work inspires travel and helps others want to create their own work.

A few words on solo traveling:

Someone told me the other day that they could never travel alone. They told me that people who travel alone must be depressed and lonely.

Yes, you could make it depressing. Yet, you have the ability to shape the experience what you want it to be. I’ve had trips start off on a bad foot and have been able to turn it around.

Does it look like I’m depressed and lonely in this photo 🤣

You could sit in your hotel room and stare out the window to the view of an ally. Or, you could go on a spontaneous sunrise hike with new friends.

Don’t get me wrong, solo traveling can seem daunting but, it will allow you to experience your travels like you never have before. It’ll allow you to soak up more of an experience and to give you some freedom and flexibility to do what you want to do. taken in Prague, Czech Republic by @whowhatclare

It is so important to immerse yourself in real art! I am truly tired of all the AI stuff and you can rest assured, you will never ever find that on either of my pages. I am a MARATHONER. While I had initially trained for a quicker time, by mile 8, every single running injury I had ever had started to flare. As my initial goal time got further out of reach, the goal just became for me to have fun & finish (because I told everyone I was doing this and couldn’t back out ;) When mile 18 approached, my mindset quickly became what marathon am I signing up for next. I still felt as if I have so much to prove to myself. The pain turned into leg spasms and I was just doing everything to get through it (Jell-O shot?!) My headphones decided to die with seven miles left it “Jesus I trust in you” was on repeat.

My favorite moments from the race were obviously that my mom flew out and ran her first half, the spectators handing out special treats (iykyk), my friends who suffered up the mile 13 hill with me, Fr. Johnathan who ran on the course and prayed for me, and FINISHING the race. AMDG. So who is running Colombus with me?! #roadtoboston by @whowhatclare

The road back to Catholicism was not without trial & everything was done on God’s time, and His timing is always perfect (even if it took nearly ten years). The immense amount of peace this anxious person is feeling that followed in receiving the sacrament of Confirmation was tremendous , I AM HOME🕊️ Saint Gianna Molla (& Saint Dymphna ;) PRAY FOR US! 👩🏼‍🍼🧠

January 28, 2018: All you need for an authentic Italian dinner is tomato sauce, noodles, and a pair of faux Gucci slides (in a rural Ghanaian village, not the easiest feat). As Seb “cooked” the meal, Miracle climbed onto the fridge to light sparklers inside, Caroline held onto Blessing, and I got to sit in the kitchen and document it all through my lens. Five days later, Seb passed away.

Six years later and, I’m ‘honoring’ him the best way I know how, eating an entire pizza and lighting a single cig (but not smoking!) that I found in my belongings last week. I might even shed a tear over clocks by Coldplay, sue me.

Seb, I pray that you’re one of the five people I meet in heaven (but also that there’s more than five people there) bc we know you love a good party! What an absolute joy it was getting to travel the world with you during your last months on earth 🕊️ by @whowhatclare

My favorite time of the year to post, finals week! I find that looking through my photos is very calming during such a hectic time and thought I’d throw it back with one from hurricane ridge. I haven’t touched my camera since March but I have a feeling that will change very soon 💗 keep your eyes peeled! by @whowhatclare

Paris tip: #1) Enjoy your coffee across the street from the most beautiful building because the coffee is bound to be cheaper and better.
