Last Tuesday night, I had an opportunity to attend an investor screening of Why Farrells?

It was a small, intimate screening for the subjects and production team-a chance to see how the story is taking shape as the film moves towards the finish line.

There’s still plenty of post-production ahead-sound, color, music and all the final cinematic polish-but what we saw is really starting to feel like a near-final cut.

The pieces are coming together, the story is finding its rhythm, and the final act is clearly in sight.

The production team is still looking for photographs and archival images to help bring the story to life-especially pictures of Eddie Farrell. Don’t look over your shoulder.
Don’t pretend you don’t know where that old photo album is., Ha, Ha!

Somewhere in your house (or maybe your parents’ attic) are photos of Farrell’s, Eddie Farrell, Danny Mills, Timmy Horan, Vinny Brunton, or snapshots from the Irish American Day Parade.
You know it. We know it.

And if you don’t have them… you definitely know someone who does.

So here is your mission:
Dig through those old photo albums.
Call your family.
Text that friend who practically lived at Farrell’s.

Those memories are out there, but we’ll never find them without YOUR help.

As we continue editing WHY FARRELL’S, we’re searching for old photos and videos of FARRELL’s, the 9th Avenue/Windsor Terrace neighborhood, St. Patrick’s Day parades, family celebrations, church events, and the people who made FARRELL’s legendary-including Eddie Farrell, Danny Mills, and Timmy Horan.

We recently interviewed Michael McLeer, aka Laves, a Brooklyn visual artist and the creator of Brooklyn Pop at Industry City.
Brooklyn Pop is a one-of-a-kind cultural installation celebrating the borough that has shaped the world. Spanning over 11,000 square feet, the experience is part exhibit and part art installation, immersing visitors in the sights, sounds, and stories of Brooklyn’s past and present.
