Thanks for another fun summer at Math Camp! Throughout camp, we made math and reading exciting with interactive daily lessons and hands-on STEM projects—like designing a Ferris wheel to explore engineering, gravity, force, and structure. Scholars also participated in daily journaling, helping them build self-awareness, strengthen writing, and grow their critical thinking skills. The students also had the opportunity to build new friendships and reconnect with peers while exploring the Museum of Math, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and swimming. It was a joy watching our campers learn, create, and have fun! by @whyhatemath
🎲 Ideas → game day! In our final Board Game Design workshop, students explored probability by investigating which sums appear most often when rolling two dice. They then finished building their board games and tested them with friends! A huge thank you to Why Hate Math for partnering with us this summer. We loved working with the students and can't wait for what's next! 💙 by @whyhatemath
ROBOT ENGINEERING 🎉 In this workshop, students became engineers by thinking of a problem their robot could solve. They sketched their ideas, labeled their robot's features, and some built cardboard prototypes to bring their designs to life! Thank you to Why Hate Math for partnering with us to inspire young innovators! 💙 by @whyhatemath
We had an awesome first week at WHM Summer Math Camp! 🔢💦🍉🎡 Can’t wait to see our campers for week 2! by @whyhatemath
Code Her World is back! 🤖 🎉 We kicked off our summer workshop series with Why Hate Math in Brooklyn, introducing students to robotics and programming through our Robot Mouse workshop! Students explored algorithms, practiced giving precise instructions, and learned that debugging is a normal part of problem solving. Thank you to the WHM team for partnering with us. We can't wait for more STEM workshops this summer! by @whyhatemath
